Istead of downloading the music, why dont you just buy one of the compilation cds out there?

Bonkers, Hardcore Nation, Hardcore Euphory, Clubland Extreme Hardcore...the list goes on. Support the music, dont steal it.

Here here to not stealing.

But here is a list of some good DJ's and producers worth checking out.

Luna-C - Best live HC DJ hands down, makes banging tracks, and makes lots of different types of techno besides HHC. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Stormtrooper - His Thin n Crispy label puts out a lot of good stuff you will find on those compilations. Great straightforward HHC producer.

DJ Cloudskipper - Great DJ go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and download some live mixes...may I suggest Live @ Superfiends for some great cheese?

And when I stop being so lazy and post the tracklisting you can go through the mix I'm working on and check out the artists featured there. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Ok I hope that helps to get you started. Enjoy!

Yes Hardcore IS a type of techno...hence the name...Hardcore Techno.

You better have some pretty strong evidence to back that statement up because a lot of rumors fly on these boards. Eg the four-year rumor that Dyloot is a NARC (that just re-surfaced for some reason). Plus I have heard rumors about Cloudskipper himself before that turned out to be completely false. So yea...don't just go posting stuff like that without backing it up...and "my friend said" does NOT count.

P.S. I will admit though he is not nearly as good as he used to be but if you want to hear some really good old skool hardcore mixed well then I still recommend to check him out!

Hardcore is not a type of techno. Its a type of Electronic Dance Music. Techno is also a type of Electronic Dance Music. Hardcore Techno is basically just really hard techno and has nothing to do with happy hardcore, I guess you could call hardcore techno a type of gabber. TECHNO IS NOT WHAT THE WHOLE GENRE IS CALLED. Its all Electronic Dance Music...Im just assuming that ILove2Glow meant happy hardcore and not gabberish type stuff.

Cloudskipper is a dick, he took promos from a label that he was signed to and sold them without there consent. Its part of the reason why Raw Elements isnt doing much if anything anymore. Thats a pretty dicklike thing to do.

Read that thread if you have a little extra time. All the fun starts around page 4. That thread is all about liquid nrg but cloudskipper is mentioned somewhere in it. Its probably not the proof you wanted but how can you prove something that wasnt documented and has been over for about 3 years now? I believe the people on the hullaboards, they are some of the most respected hardcore djs in north america.

Learn your stuff before you come posting. DaveoftheRave was correct on both of his statements.

Ok this is really splitting hairs. First of Techno being it's own genre and not the name of all dance music is a (relatively) new thing (relatively...I dont need a history lesson). You have to understand that we are a different breed of music lovers then the general public...who still mostly refer to dance music as "techno." I get it ALL the time. "Oh you play techno??" (Me) "No...I play Hardcore." So, with the exception of the small community of ravers (true ravers into the music mind you), TECHNO IS STILL THE NAME OF THE ENTIRE GENRE. Thats just the way it is...even "Electonica" still hasnt caught on with the public.

Also "Happy" Hardcore is hardly even that happy anymore. Yes there is still cheese but the sound is much much more freeform now. A lot of people use the term Happy Hardcore to refer to 97 Hardcore anyways. There is also Gabba out there that is happy as well. Not the new stuff but its out there. Also you can play all of these styles in one set and when you go to massives...at least in L.A. the "Hardcore" room usually has both dark and happy DJ's. IT IS ALL HARDCORE TECHNO BABY!! This genre splitting crap is only useful when buying records (barely useful at that) and is really just a waste of time.

With that said, being that Hardcore HAS TECHNO IN IT'S NAME...it IS a form of techno and I stand by my statement.

About Cloudskipper...I gave up reading after page 14, you said he is only "mentioned" anyways but I will read though when I have time. If I remember correctly that issue was resolved. I could be wrong BUT...I know a lot of trusted DJ's that support Cloudskipper including Luna-C and Distinkt (who has a blog on his myspace stating how excited he is to open for Cloudskipper). I've heard lots of rumors about lots of DJ's that have turned out to be totally false so you BOTH better present some GOOD evidence before trashing someones reputation. Yes, he IS a dick. But guess what? So are a lot of DJ's. I've met plenty who are far worse. That doesnt mean you get to trash his rep the way you are without the proper support. Besides...downloading his old mixes is free anyways so it's not like he would be making money for Ilove2Glow to check him out.

P.S. On the set I'm working on that I posted up above there is a BRAND NEW track from Raw Elements called "We Want Your Soul" and it kicks ass. I know they have done at least one new release since that track was made so yea...maybe YOU should learn your stuff before you come posting.

Completely forgot to include my second point which is it doesn't even matter what the dance genre is called as a whole.

Saying Hardcore isn't a type of techno is like saying cheese is not a form of milk. Sure they don't taste much alike...you can call both of them Dairy...but cheese is STILL a type of milk.

Same applies here...Hardcore doesn't sound much like techno...you can call both of them Electronic Dance Music...but Hardcore is STILL a type of techno.

...Thanks, I guess. I only download things when I am not able to find them ANYWHERE else. I know some people get really offended by it, I am sorry... Its just a few songs that I just use to listen to(like I would never use it for personal profit, etc.) Again I am sorry to those that I offened.

hardcore techno is usually referred to hardcore that is basically normal hardcore. you know, the non cheesy hardcore. most of that stuff usually is dutch or some straight up harder shit.

hardcore is basically what the brits call happy hardcore without having the stigma of being happy cheesers.

stay gay everyone!

also, if anyone wants to know anything about chris, should really just talk to him versus playing the whole he said she said game.

Haha now we are REALLY splitting hairs! j/k

No I do understand that and I should have said "IT'S ALL HARDCORE BABY!"

Anyways thank you for the back up...I just feel that you should not come on a board like that without the straight facts that is all.

Oh and Ilove2Glow...no need to apologize. There is nothing wrong with checking out free DJ mixes, that is what they are there for. Just don't go stealing whole tracks off of Limewire or somthing.

Oh I also forgot to recommend SMIRK. Another very good DJ with a good variety of different types of mixes.

Nah, I know my facts. Its up to you whether you believe it or not.

Also, argueing back and forth on a message board is about as dumb as liquid nrg. That is why I never responded back to you, I had a huge long post typed up but then figured its really not worth my time to spend hours on a message board when there are much more fun things to do.
