trust me you guys, i get what you are saying. If you know me really well, you know i feel guilty after a big meal too. i work out a lot. i eat a lot. my weight fluctuates.

but place that condones congratulations for only eating 500 calories in a week? yes, that was one post.

or people who agree that your mom is insensitive for trying to get you to eat a meal when you haven't eaten in two days?

that is not the kind of support they need.

Like I said, these girls are looking for a support system because they hate their bodies and themselves so much. They would be anorexic without the site too, the site just helps them get little gold stars everytime they do something good. It makes them feel a tiny bit better about themselves.

It's a kind of self-loathing that's hard for others to understand if you've never went through it.

There's really something to crediting someone's experience.

I mean, suppose a person says to you that they have suicidal thoughts. Do you tell them they're wrong, or do you ask the deeper question - why are they having these thoughts?

Why not a pro suicide community? Are we really so fragile we think people in such a community would do more harm to each other than good?

I just know how to deal with my insecurities in a healthy way. and thats where those girls should be. a community that teaches how to deal with insecurities in a healthy way

im not ignorant here. ive had my fair share of binging on exercise and i've dealt with friends with ED.
several friends had to leave the dorms and school to go to a hospital.

I just think that yes, while this site gives these girls a safe place to rant and talk with other people and get congratulated, its all for the wrong reasons.

I have always thought that you, rogue, always knew what you wanted to explain and then did it so well. I wish I could do the same But all the rolls made it so so difficult. Do you think about what you want to say and then write it b/c I just start typing immeadiatly.

there are pro suicide comunities ! Its how mass suicide happen. i dont think it doing harm or good if anything these girls /boys are finding someone who understands where there coming from. is that what any forum is about

the wrong reasons? how many would have had ED if anyone at all had validated their experiences previously?

taking a standard dose of MDMA or cid or shrooms every other week is much different than starving your body.

food is soooooo important to your health. depriving yourself of all those nutrients is different than putting the chemicals we do in our mouths.

but like i said....we preach safety and responsibility here a lot.

erowid and all those sites? I'm curious how many of them are not looking into how food is what keeps you alive....

like i said....i'd rather them get a different support then this. even if proper support fails. at least it would show more people trying. and people do recover to a healthy point....

What would be proper support? We don't even like to think about this. Remember, you can only be anorexic in a society rich enough to have excess food. If these people were in a third world society etc. etc. Proper support is not available for these people, so they take what support they can.

i've been through the mass media discussion so many times.

its the major source of anorexia.

before TV, anorexia was in such smaller numbers and was not do to insecurity, but a mental illness.

remember when being fat was good? meant you were rich and could provide....?
