What fascinates you?

Technology, everyday something new is invented or being discussed.. I wish i would be around for the day that you see a robot walking down the street.. =P


Or when we can look beyond our solar system and see what else is out there in space.


I donno, i love technology for all sorts of reasons ^^


some of it can be pretty bad though.

I love weather systems, I love how how all weather is, is just all the air in the atmosphere, moving from high-pressure to low-pressure. (BTW, that's what WIND is). The world is always trying to reach equilibrium.

I love how mountains affect the flow of these systems, which brings me to geography. I love studying Geography and Topography.

Like.. ok here's something for the LA-people.

We have the santa-monica mountain ranges. From the East it starts around Hollywood (Griffith Park) and goes all the way West until Malibu (Point Mugu) and vanishes into the ocean.

The range actually continues... underwater... for about 30 miles... and then out pops the CHANNEL ISLANDS!!! The islands are simply a westward extension of the Santa Monica Mountain Ranges!!!

Thats crazy shit, man. I used to live in Monterey and there is an underwater canyon just off the coast larger (i.e. deeper) then the Grand Canyon. We literally know more about outer space then we know about what is under the ocean. About %80 - %90 of what we DO know has been discovered within the last five years or so.

Ooh yea I'm a technology FREAK. Due to my job I'm really into compression (video) technology. It's crazy how good it is now...and how much better it needs to get. It's also crazy in how good old technology is. For example how vinyl still sounds SO much better then CDs (easy explanation for that) and how film still looks better then video (video is catching up though). One thing that worries me about technology though (especially robots and stuff) is that it NEVER works! My job would be 10,000 times easier if I didn't have to spend so much time fixing shit (and dealing with all of my company's damn security procedures).

Hmm well I've heard that the closest comparative being to the earth is a living cell. Also the closest comparative beings to humans are viruses, which would make sense.

Also there is a new theory coming out that what surrounds our universe is gravitational (dark) energy and that black holes in our space are actually permeations of that outer energy (in other words it's seeping in). Gravitational energy is also thought to be FASTER then light speed (hence why light can not escape black holes). There is a LOT more to this with actual math that coincides (and works with other theories such as Relativity). The paper is on the verge of getting published and when it does I will post it here (it will blow your mind, seriously).
