    muziek The Workout Thread

So if you haven't noticed a lot of people in the scene seem to be in rather good shape, i'm not sure if people in the rave scene are just more health concious or are just more prone to workout to look better for the opposite (or same) sex Click here to enlarge. Anyways, this thread's purpose is to inspire you to workout by working out smarter and not harder. I ask people to post their workout regimes, their diets and any techniques they've learned that has helped them define their bodies into healthier bodies. This thread will become a plethora of knowledge that can be used for the years to come. I ask people to arrange their information by subject matter (ex: diet: blah blah). And as always everyone can benefit even if you already have that perfect body you've always wanted.

Click here to enlarge I will be posting more information shortly.

As I said do short distance resistance running.

Goto a football field or any type of field that is flat and run 3x100 yard sprints 5 times meaning you run to the end touch line run back touch line.
Drink lots of water like alot of water it will help you lose weight, depending on what you want todo if you want to add strength in the weight room lift heavy and do 5 sets 1st do 10 then 8 then 8 then 6 and 6 or 4 again each time your adding more weight and you should bareley be able todo that last rep. If you want to add little definition and trim shit go crazy on the reps and use small weights. For nutrition cut any type of soda from your diet, white carbs, bad fats and eat lean meats and whole grain, L-glutamine will also help you in bulking up as will whey protein eat plenty of veggies and fruits, dont overdo the fruits tho as they are packed with sugar (aka carbs).

I do not think this statement is true. I do not agree that a lot of people at parties are in good shape, or are very health conscious. In fact, I strongly believe the opposite is true. I see fat fucks, or anorexic sticks coughing their lungs out on cigs, wearing their stringy muscles thin "dancing" every weekend, and essentially slowly killing themselves.

my 0.02... cut down on cigarettes, empty calories, and processed foods... try to eat a lot of fresh fruit, your body will like it.

Swimming or any kind of water sport involving lots of swimming is very good for you... it provides a hellishly intense cardio workout without putting the strain on your knees like running does. It also builds up real endurance and strength muscles in your upper body, not just the protein powder/creatine bulk you see on a lot of gym-goers. Plus, it builds up your lung capacity. Swimming is also a great practical skill, you'll have a better chance of not drowning in fucked up situations in the open water.

As far as shaping the body goes, I don't think I need to say too much on the behalf of swimming.

I've been swimming competitively since I was about five years old as per the doctor's order, since I had a heart condition and swimming was the best way to help alleviate it over a long time. I joined Novaquatics when I was nine, and I swam with them along with my varsity high school team until college started.

yes, I have been wearing speedos for a very long time... Click here to enlarge

hit it on the head basically.

I'm naturally really skinny and don't put on muscle/weight easily...double edged sword I suppose.

I run 3 miles a day and just do my own back/arms/abs workout at home...along with occasional dancing I'm in good shape although not "buff"

First lets give people a few reasons to work out aside from having a healthier body and looking good for the opposite sex.

So what happens when you don't work out?

Unfortunately in this fast pace society most of us don't get the proper nutrition we need to maintain a healthy body (some will argue people are just too lazy to take the time to proper nutritious meals since they do take time to prepare.) and we find ourselves eatting fast food and often junk (lets face it, eatting healthy outside of the home can be somewhat steep; alot more steep than buying a $.99 meal.) that has little to no nutritional value that causes us to overeat. This in turn causes us to become overweight and often develop health conditions that become a great burden on us over the years. One of these health conditions is diabetes, according to the American Diabetes Association there is 20.8 children and adults who suffer from diabetes in this nation alone. From personal experiences (people i've known who have had or have diabetes) diabetes is a horrible condition that no one who's sane would want to develop as eventually you can end up becoming amputated or worse result in being dead.

So with this said I state the first course of actions that result from not working out and becoming out of shape (of course not everyone who is not in proper health will result these conditions but they will be more prone to them occuring).

    1) You become overweight (self image drops, shortness of breath occurs more often, more prone to diseases and conditions as heart attacks, gout and diabetes to name a few, more stress is put on the body by the excess weight.).

    2) You are more prone to develop health conditions that put you at risk to pass away at a younger age (again diabetes, gout, strokes, cardiovascular diseases, sleep apnea,osteoarthritis.).

Next post will focus on muscle hypertrophy ....
