"On June 4, 2009, four women with hula-hoops all received tickets and fines from an Officer R. Schultz. The women in question are professionals, and were practicing for an upcoming event. Their hula-hoops were on fire, and they had two safety people ready at either end of the practice. They were each given a ticket for “uncontrolled fire, fire-throwing, or walking on fire”...."

I've been a vocal protester against the lack of freedom on our beaches in general.
Ask Bryce about it sometime(when he's back from the Caribbean) and he'll give you an earful about the subject. |

First they should fight the tickets to see if it's bullshit and get out of it. It's going to be 6 months at least before they're even found guilty or innocent.

Ridiculous. Beaches are so uptight with their rules. I love being protected from myself, but cmon, this is just silly.

Did the police take any evidence?
When this happened with us. The court threw out the case because...well the police didn't have a case against us. Fire performing legally speaking is just considered "open flame" which should only result in a fine at most. If you guys have any questions. Please feel free to ask me. Smoke them cops! |

what the shit? did the cops forget they were in ocean fucking beach, and that's considered fairly normal? i've seen a grip of fire eaters around that beach and mission, and no one handing out tickets to them!
sad to hear the sdpd still can't find anything better to do then hand out BS tickets on the beach. i got a $210 fine for having a glass bottle of iced tea in my beach bag. dicks. |

i never understood how people can just take it upon themselves to claim all the beaches as theirs and not allow people to go to them whenever they feel like.
'the beach is closed' wtf?!?!? beach is closed? im sorry but nature doesnt close. fuck you. this land was created by motherfucking mother nature, not you bitch. you dont OWN this fucking sand and water. its bullshit how humans have taken it upon themselves to claim the world as theres. there should be no boundaries. we are sharing a world with other creatures and life forms yet we act as if were the only ones here and we created all this shit. we are simply borrowing/renting the ground we stand on until we go extinct and the next life forms take over. fuck humans. and fuck the police for pulling this horseshit on these fire dancers for performing in a controlled environment within the guidelines of the fire safety rules. they recently updated some of the fire laws to make certain fire performance equipment illegal. luckily this kinda stuff wasnt hit by the ban, but its only a matter of time |

Not only that, we directly pay for all of the services the beach offers through taxes. It is citizen land. if anything, WE own it. |
