Hey all!

This is a n00b question but I really just wanted to do it for my friends' reassurance...
They keep hearing all these horror stories about how thorough security is at Insomniac events and other massives these days and theyre trippin about sneaking stuff in. I dont think itll be a problem because they have to move through so many people, but theyre all like kandi kids and heard that last year at EDC there were a bunch of "random" shoe searches and whatnot on kandi kids and so they dont wanna get rolled. Do they just bust a simple pat down, and do they just kinda finger through shit in bags? I hope its not that burnt because its really killing their excitement for EDC and it bums me out to hear them thinking so negatively about such an epic night!

Anyhow, thanks everyone. Hopefully I can join in on an RL meet-up and say hi this Saturday.

Don't trip, I've been to plenty of massives and I have yet to see ANYONE get shoe searched. All of the security guards that I've met in general have been really chill, although I know there are some ass holes. Like at Love Fest the guy doing the checking was like "Fuck man, I don't wanna look through your whole bag, I don't care if you got herb on ya man, I'm just making sure you got no weapons - you don't look like the type who'd shank someone" and I just smiled and he let me through. I did not, though, have herb on me : O

Even if they do shoe searches (doubtful), the word will come back through the line that the shoes are coming off, long before you get to the check.

But if they are worried about it, just don't sneak shit in. That solves the problem.

yeah, security guards are usually really chill. if you really want to be on their good side, make their job as easy as you can. do whatever they ask with a smile on your face. if you're bringing a bag, empty it and carry whats inside in your hands first. (piling it into a jacket hood is pretty convenient)

They usually check jacket hoods, not always, but I wouldn't rely on that, I say crotch-it (if you're bringing like 50 pills lawl) or put your shit in your shoes or if its like 500 pills, just have a friend toss it over or push it through a hole in the fence, its not that difficult

A couple girls we were with last year at EDC got shoe searched.

Just wear boxer briefs & attach them (paperclip, alligator clip, tape, you get the picture)

Its probably not the brightest idea to discuss this over the boards and not in pms but i have yet to have the pleasure of a security guard givin me an impromptu handy.

Im not sure how security on this one will be. Bag-wise im not sure if theyll let you bring them in.. maybe. Love fest at first they didnt.. but alot of people got through. I dont trust shoes. i wouldnt hide them in ur shoes. but it between ur thy and balls. its the best place. and i know personaly. no security gaurd will ever touch there. Ladies... cleavage as long as u cant tell.... and some people hide them on kandy.. but.... its kinda risky. Just remember kids..

and seriously, echo is definitely right. if you have ANY doubts as to your ability to sneak something in, don't. edc should NOT be missed, by anyone! leave it to the experienced peoples and just slang it. it'll be worth the 5 extra dollars.

all i'm sneaking in is my jaw guard(scared they'll call it a pacifier and junk it) and some tigerbalm. hah.

I dunno. I think it can be totally random. Last EDC, I was shoe-searched, but not pocket checked. Nocturnal my pockets were gone through inside-out, and for TAO, the guy just looked at me, and waved me through.
