We've had our differences as far as dnb goes, but thats just because we got into it in totally different ways at totally different times.

i fucking love it! the tempest is such an awesome song.

theres no way in hell you can call this drum n bass. no way. its far from it. this is pure electronic rock music. anyways that said. i gotta stand by this album. not EVERY song on it is awesome, but so far the majority has impressed me. its worth the FREE download

I wouldn't suggest having paid more than that so it looks like you'll be breakin even on this one and saving yourself buyers remorse

There we go. A sensical response, finally.
Pendulum has moved beyond attempting to stick to just drum&bass.
They changed, and in my opinion: for the better.

Hahah
It's so funny how some people want
so badly to be able to categorize artists based on their existing history.
To be fair - as far as I'm concerned, it is natural to react in such a manner.

Pendulum was very distinctly drum & bass - now, they are not.
So, those who expect to hear DnB from them,
and find DnB-ish "electronic rock" as KillerTofu so aptly put it - are likely
to feel frustration and [endless annoyance].
FYI, Notes: not talking shit. I can identify - but (likely due to my age
and musical circumstances) I have moved beyond being frustrated
by unexpected changes from artists... In fact, I welcome it.
It shows growth, character, and ultimately - evolution - however subjective it may be.

yea. over time your attitude towards music changes. when your really young music is like cool and you think liking certain artists makes you cool and you try to make sure other people know who you like and dislike. going mainstream is uncool to the 'underground' fans, and listening to mainstream makes people who are antisocial feel cool because they are part of something bigger. when you get older you mature as a person and gain your own identity then begin to like music for music and dont give 2 shits what other people think.

i mean honostly, who wants to see an artist keep doing the same thing over and over. but i dont like when artists change to what they THINK the public wants (like linken park and paparoach did). i like when they grow in their own direction. its artists like that that break barriers and create amazing albums that last forever.

that said....im still hooked on 'the tempest' hahahahhahaha, this song is like crack. possibly their best song ever

THAT is not pendulum, that is insomniac falsely selling you a brand name. a cd of their songs being played? wtf were you on, he barely played ANY pendulum songs at all. after 30 mins he had played 1 track and i walked away. when i saw him at funktion he only played 3-4 songs. its bullshit. im going to see the producers known as pendulum perform their songs. not to listen to some random dude spinning dnb for an hour and a half.

that said, i have not been able to find a copy of the new cd yet, BUT i did get to hear it performed live and i loved it. the entire front half of the tent at coachella turned into a crazy dance/mosh pit. i had so much fucking fun i was still laughing my ass off with joy after it was over. the songs sounded AMAZING live. i love the vocal effects that the keyboardists uses over his voice, and the live instruments just make it that much better. i dont really consider them a full blown drum n bass group anymore, but thats like saying Prodigy isnt a breaks/edm group anymore. as an electronic group they rock. simple as that.

there does seem to be a bandwagon of hating on them because their songs got overplayed at raves, but who gives a fuck. they got overplayed because they were fucking awesome. hold your color was probably the best produced dnb album ever made. hell one of the best EDM cds ever made. its easy for non dnb fans to pickup listen to and enjoy...hell its easy for people that arnt heavily into EDM at all to pick up and enjoy. and thats what makes them so great. they are universal. true DNB heads (i laugh at this even being a term) hate on them because they turned dnb into such a mainstream thing and took the dark eliteness that it once held away from it. yall just hataz

ah yes, such fun in the Mosh pit with Mr Tofu, MJ, Francis, and Moogle lol. Live, they were sick, they give off so much energy on stage it's hard not to dance to them..........DJ sets?? Blah. As for their new album.............not a fan. There are a couple of good songs like Granite that still have a small DnB feel with a hard hitting base line, but they are leaning more into the "rock band' persona and i hope they steer away from that...........which they probably won't to.

Prodigy.............wow. Live........SICK, and still with a DnB feel after all these years. I've been able to see both live.................Prodigy > Pendulum
