Kandi is a sentimental thing to give for memory or trade around neat pieces, try making your own and trading them with others, i don't do this anymore, wearing kandi to fit in, is not its purpose, and i assure you, the people you meet will give you some by the end of the night.

Its preferable you trade Like me i love to trade rather then just give not because I get a piece but because i get a piece of that person . Its more of a bonding experience then just something you wear to a party. Almost like a hug or a good converstaion. I still have the first piece of kandi someone gave me at my first party I had no Kandi to trade so i gave them a jelly bracelet with spikes i was wearing. I will never ever forget that moment ever

This is not how it works.. and the "gimme gimme" thing.. is not cool.

I've had first time ravers come up to me and just say "Can I have one of your bracelets?" And I usually give them one.. but I would prefer for them to say "HI my name is________, this is my first rave!" I would then be HAPPY to give kandi. I treasure the first piece I got at my first rave.

If you wanna start the kandi thing, go for it!! But yeah make a couple of your own pieces to trade when you go. You can get super cheap beads at Michaels or even Walmart.

Or if you have no drive to make your own, actually talk to people at raves and let them know it's your first (if it is, which I can only assume...)

I concur. I hate the gimme gimme gimme ppl, it seems a little wrong. It put alot of thought into my kandi only because to me it means something. My pieces are an expression of me. I know its not that way for everybody but it is for me!

i still have yet to trade kandi =( but yet i dont really recieve them too =P.
for some weird reason i have a had time just going up to ppl and just talking unless they are recieveing a lightshow from me or im getting one. But i my main point is asking for kandi isnt really a bonding exp. talk to them/get to know them and share some bond for tha tshort period of time and hoply ill grow into a really good friendship ^_^
