Since the Hudson "debuted". A year of almost every party being at the Hudson.
Will it ever get old? Will promoters ever get off their ass and look for venues rather than taking the easy way out? Will it end up like the Ranch, the Alex, the Fox.. and everywhere else? While it IS a nice venue, and ravers in other states would shit bricks over being able to have a steady venue like it.... I FUCKING HATE IT! |

But still what is everyone's major beef with the hudson? I mean coming from two different raves scenes before moving out to soCal, i just don't see it. It's a rather clean venue...security is kinda brutish, but you'll get that @ any type of place like that...the venue is rather large, it's secure permited... wtf more can you guys want? Anyone from the east coast here? Remember the Muni in Hartford or the Asylum in Springfield?? FUck shitty small ass dirty venues... you kids seriously should be wikked happy for what you got. I would have given anything for a place like that in the midwest a few years ago, we were forced to throw parties in barns out in the middle of cornfields...so that we wouldn't get shutdown. |

i know kids that have to travel to other states just to rave. us californian ravers are extremely spoiled and we bitch when we shouldn't... but hey, that's why we're all the way over here in california. we breed a different kind of person. the hudson is an extremely nice, big, clean venue! although the gotham side ladies restrooms are ghetto.. some of them don't even have doors... i still can't stand this place. i've seen security hassle kids who weren't doing anything, meanwhile the dealers are right behind them yelling "X" "K" and they play blind. i've seen security guards FILMING girls going in and out of the restroom on the hudson side. a frend of mine, CACTUS [some of you know him] got robbed and stabbed IN THE PARKING LOT. it's a far drive from where most of us live (cue the bitching from the SD kids who travel to LA every weekend). i would love to go to a party like the ones you described. i know it's getting harder and harder to throw events in la and find venues/warehouses... but i miss not knowing where the party was going to be at every week. i miss the map points with the crazy directions, and the shuttle buses. the very few i got to experience.. that is. because of the hudson being the main venue, it's breeding a new kind of raver. an even more spoiled and clueless one. they all think parties are supossed to be like the hudson. a big venue with bathrooms that have indoor plumbing, and food !!! |

ok, well i stand somewhat corrected =D I will admit i have only been to the hudson a few times, so i guess i haven't really seen how bad it gets. And as for map points... lol they are such a pain, i remember having to drive 20 milesto a damn map point only to find out the party was like 6 blocks from where i was living. but they were also kinda fun, it really gave parties that underground feeling. I definately understand where you are coming from with the whole spoiled and clueless raver, back in the midwest once the scene got seriously shutdown, a real big sense of community developed...because you always saw the same people at every party, and everyone knew eachother...and watched eachothers backs, and you could count on that. OH BTW SHUTTLE BUSES ROCK! always made sure to ride it back and forth for a while... you'd always score pocket drops ![]() |

it seems like before every significant hudson party there's a few threads bitching about the venue.
Y'all are just mad that you LA kids have to make an actual effort for once to go to a venue. The venue itself is not bad. Don't make your resentment for the Hudson spill onto the space inside. Stabbings could happen anywhere, whether it be at the Hudson, 3rd and los angeles, or even an outdoor venue. I live RIGHT in the middle of LA and San Bernardino. It makes not difference to me either way where I go, so I'm an unbiased opinion. My opinion is - the Hudson is nice and dark. the ventilation is not that bad. it has a lot of room. i like the carpets on the wall. the gotham side is awesome. there's a lot of parking (yes there have been reports of cars being broken into, but again that's possible anywhere). security never proved to be any worse at the Hudson than what I experienced at some other raves. |

that place is a piss and jizz stained crackden that produces mindless 15 year old kids wondering the streets of downtown sb fucked up out of there gord at 6 a.m. in the morning on a sunday. why would you want anything to do with that place, not to mention there hasn't been one show worth going to there in my opinion as well. you're in la dude, theres shit going on in every corner of the city on any given weekend, why would you subject yourself to not only that drive, but that madness
