And I don't see how we were discriminating in anyway. I just don't see why people go to raves just for drugs. And why they can't just go for the music, like how raves were meant to be. |

I was not pissed off, just very sarcastic.
Look, raves are raves-take it for face value. A rave is a party where ALL people are welcome to come right? Even those, just for the drugs(so long as they dont OD). I just dont get why you guys are so into labeling who is a 'true raver' and who is not. who cares? If you meet a couple ravers who are into the music-go chat it up with them, but there's no point in being elitist to some degree and claiming to be better than those who come for the drugs. They chose to do drugs in the scene, not their own backyard. I dont know, an analogy I guess would be my school for example. I'm sure there are a few cats at my high school who's motive is to LEARN and better their education. MY motive however is just to get through highschool. But you dont see those motivated cats who want to learn, bashing on the unmotivated kids do you? School is for everyone: those who care, and those who dont give a shit as any other institution, company, or place. alls im saying is who gives a fuck? out with the PLUR, in with the WGAF |

okay I wasn't saying that those that don't do drugs are more superior than those that do drugs. I am just saying that those that truly go for the music, and let music be their only drug are actual ravers, because they don't need an alteration in the experience. Another thing I believe is that doing drugs for long periods of time and letting drugs become what you go to a rave for is kind of a poor decision. But i'm sorry that you think that ravers are people that go to raves sober and to go raves to do drugs as well. |

I went to wikipedia and looked up raves, and here's what i got: Although not universally agreed upon by those in the rave movement, some of the central tenets of the culture are said to be: * Openness: not to judge or condemn other people's style of clothes, hair, makeup, costume, sexual orientation, musical preference, race, age, gender, class or income. * Acceptance: not to try to convince anyone of the rightness or wrongness associated with most human activities. * Positivity: to subscribe to the notion that if something makes someone happy without hurting someone else, then that something is okay. Accordingly, fights or scuffles at a rave are rare, and the atmosphere itself is welcoming and loving. this is definitely not what i'm seeing here. wah wah wah, people go to raves to do drugs. they can't be called real ravers because it gives everyone else the wrong impression. that is not acceptance. just because you decided not to do any more drugs, doesn't mean that the people that do them need to feel unwanted as ravers. your epiphany won't change that if you attend raves, you are a raver. |
