If the cops pull you over, can they legally search your car?

Just curious, cause I heard they need a search warrant and if they ask you if they can search your car and you say no, they can't do anything. I was wondering what the real dilly was? Thanks.

You really can say no. Looks better if you say yes obviously. But then the cop will find a reason for "probable cause" to look in your car. Smelled pot... saw a hooker.. etc LOL

they cannot search your car. if it reeks of weed, then they can, but they CAN make you stay there until a K9 comes, and have it sniff the outside of the car, and if it alerts to anyhting, they can search. also, they cannot search the trunk or glvoe compartment without a waarant, or probable cause (a K9 alerting is probable cause)

but they can take your license so that you cant drive but i'm not sure for how long!

at the very least they will keep you there until you get over it.

i've personally sat with 12 cops harassing me along with 10 oher friends in three different vehicles for like 3-4 hours! it was awesome...
