If a government arrests people for violent crimes they might commit solely based on words spoken it a slippery slope to a government that can arrest you for talking about lesser crimes as well.

While he might have ALSO been speaking freely, he was primarily THREATENING.
Nobody has the right to threaten anybody with any sort of harm at all. That is illegal.
