I think we're in a really bad situation..

I like the way you speak about the military Pico, it says a lot about you. I'm a civilian contractor for the Military, and have seen both good and bad sides (but different sides entirely compared to what you've experienced, I'm sure).

The Military is just like any other facet of civilization, it has good and bad people, good and bad agendas. I respect the vast majority and loathe only a few.

US Government? Fuck it. US Armed Forces? Thank you.

I love the military, it's mostly done great things for my life.

If i was to ever hear anybody speak ill of it - today was a first actually - i would try to reason with the person. I can understand if younger people say things like 'the military sucks' and have bad opinions about it .. because most young people dont really think for themselves.

Thier friends are anti-military for whatever reason, and they pick up on thier lingo and a hater is born.

Ill give facts, and anybody logical would come to the conclusion that thier hatred is aimed at the wrong thing. This is being proven right now by no negative response to my post re: bonkers/rogue.

Any facet of life is whatever you make of it. If you allow yourself to be a victim of lies - military or civilian - then youre going to be a victim.

You may not like the foreign policies of the United States government, but negativity towards soldiers because you hate our government is selfish and cowardly. All they are here to do is ensure the safety and continuation of Americans, they're not fascists or murderers, and if you feel they are, you need to either a) reexamine your viewpoint, b) move to another country, or c) stop thinking about politics in general and live your life with the realization that no one will ever come to harm you while they still wear the uniform with the "US Army" over thier hearts.

I completely understand since im a military brat, i grew up in a military based family, and aspiring to be in the military. Nothing bothers me more then people bashing the military in its entirety with generalizations and false facts.

I tried to join the marines right after high school, got a 74 on my test (74 is high, not a 74%) got a great job Signals/Ground Warfare Intell my reson for joining was to better my future, benefits on health, loans, not to mention pretty decent pay, went to bootcamp, bout 3 weeks in started having anxiety attacks as teh prozac was no longer in my system, learned the hard way not to stop anti depressants cold turkey... and so i got discharged... luckily it was considered an honerable discharge, however the marines prossesing me out were dicks because they thought i was faking it all...

after I got back home, I went back to my recruiters office and tried to reenlist, they told me no, so I went to the Air Force, again they told me no, tried for the navy reserves, again, they told me no... went back to my recruiter and asked what it would take to get back in, he basically told me i would have to wait 4 years...

4 years later I went back to the air force recruiters, filled out my paperwork then they saw my tattoos and told me no... so I went back to my marines recruiter, they saw my tattoos again and said no, but this time they took pictures and tried to get me a waiver, however my waiver got declined...

I could get lazer surgery to try to remove my tattoos, but I don't think its worth it, I love my tats, i had them put on for a reason, i think its BS they wont let me back in the military simply because of tattoos, if anything they should be encouraged for the fact that its better intimidation against the enemy, and with all that armor and gear you wouldnt see them anyways... BS i tell you....

Try the Army. As of Jan 07, the tattoo/gay/whatever else policy has changed to be open to more people.

I only support the USAF just because that F22 is one hell of a slaughtering/killing/genociding machine! As for the rest of the armed forces, not so much, after all their conquering and imperialism and genocides and rapes and murder all around the world, nah not a shred of support.

See at least the commander got a tv out of it, and you can see your where taxes whent. Now when they use tax money for BLack Ops, well you never know where it goes.
