I am in a very plurry mood this afternoon and this is why...

My 55 year old mother has suffered from arthritis since as long as I can remember. She's been taking Vicodin (Hydrocodone) as her only pain medicine for years (I can't remember for how long exactly but it's been at least 5 years or so). This year has been especially hard on her, and it finally occurred to me how she didn't have any idea that she is a perfect candidate for medical marijuana.

I can honestly say I love my mother more than anyone on this planet, she is so giving and understanding. Going out of her way for others is second nature to her. She doesn't know that I'm a smoker myself because I never wanted to worry her about my habits, so initially bringing up the topic was a little nerve wracking for me. However, I provided her with facts, showed her [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] article/video, and just told her that I really think it'd help her out. She was touched by Owen's story, and even asked if there was anything she could do to help Charlie Lynch in his trial against the federal court! (Which there is, attend his trial that starts in a couple days!)

She already smokes cigarettes so the transition shouldn't be hard for her at all! I'm taking her to get her rec on Wednesday and I couldn't be more genuinely happy. The only thing that upsets me about this matter is why didn't I suggest this too her sooner!?! I'm even somewhat mad at my brothers, they're significantly older than me and have been smoking medical marijuana for several years and never once thought to share some with my beloved mom.





She only looks like she hates me because I was being annoying and smothering her with hugs and taking pictures of her.

ok, now that htat's out of the way ... awesome!!! make sure you bring her pain med prescription with you when you go to the doctor's cuz they need doctor's consent, and the pain med is enough. and bring california id.

AWESOME! you are a great daughter for that.
Don't worry, 5-10 years of Hydrocodone (high) usage won't have permanent life shortening effects whatsoever. It may take about a year for her to fully get rid of the cravings though.
