You thought it was lame? I've only been to Woodley once but it was such a refreshment to see people enjoy electronic music in some setting OTHER than a rave (or club...) I thought it was pretty damn chill.

woodley park is pretty chill man

i can see how people could think it's lame, but man, it's just dope music at a park on a sunday afternoon, it's not supposed to be some "future goa rave epic psy madness 3000" type of party, just a chill sunday at the park...

now that i think about it i totally see what you mean and you're right. it wasnt even that lame. i guess it just wasnt what i was looking for at the time. but i dig it, just some good music in a park. haha i just found THAT music in THAT setting pretty funny. im not looking for "raves" persay... just a more similar enviornment. i dunno, i love psytrance, and its pretty dark music, it was just hard for me to get into it there.

Sadly, I have to admit that while SoCal has some decent psy parties around (if you look for them), they're pretty limited. I just got done playing for a three-day psy gathering (if it's a "party" you're at a rave with psytrance) out in the middle of Missouri.

It was amazing.

Over a dozen psytrance, ambient, and house dj's going non-stop for days on end. Tons of killer decorations. Even a "blacklight forest" that led to a "chill area" which was the passage for tents. Funny part was is that the weather was kinda wet and cool. Yet there were at least 2000 people there.

Tribal drummers, poi spinners, fire dancers, stilt walkers. It was all so surreal and nothing I've seen since the mid-90s.
