they wont do it. the sheer amount of work to do it is to great. you have to watch out or cables, etc being on the ground. then you have to worry about drugged out kids tripping, and getting hurt. its to much of an insurance liability to do it.

it'll never happen, in a rave setting, and here's why:

in concert jargon, a center stage is called "in the round." it's a really cool experience in an arena setting, and it works in concert situations because there are different levels of seats that go up all the way to the top of the arena, and everyone around the arena gets a better view of the stage if it's in the middle rather than if it were down at one end.

in rave situations, there obviously aren't single seats sold, everyone simply walks around all night. so the only viable space to sell tickets is on the floor; nobody's sitting up in the rafters. so if a significant portion of viable dance floor space is occupied by a large center stage, then the capacity for the event, and the promoter's ability to sell tickets and pay his bills, is drastically reduced.

rave stages will stay at the edge of the wall, unless a truly massive structure, like an airplane hangar, is used in which there is enough floor space to have a stage in the round and enough capacity for several thousand dancers, and enough exits for the FD to be happy.

it would be cool to have a slowly rotating stage in the round, and totally possible technically, but finding a hangar large enough to stage it in is another matter entirely.
