Over the past couple years i have written maybe Cadences, Drum Shows and breaks for entire drumlines (so of these peices may have up to 30 people in the drumline played different instruments). These are way harder to write than a DnB song for me aleast because you are not using constant loops. I am trying to host a file of my High school line playing an original peice i wrote.

DnB uses loops in 4/4 usually and uses 1 center loop while changing other other aspects of several other loops which in drum terms is called a "Fill".

You can throw a fill in anywhere and base any song off a loop with fills....simple work.

What makes these fills and loops so attractive to alot a people is the same reason why rap/hip-hop is popular...It plays off the back or the 2 and the 4 in 4/4 time. anyone likes this because its easy to find the 2 and the 4 in 4/4 time....anyone can do it...and thats why people can listen to it...because they can find the 2 and the 4 easy. You can groove to the 2 and the 4 just by instinct.

writing stuff for drumlines and such is harder than making DnD because you play drums live most of the time....its the way its played also..... the way you play an instument is a big part of how things come out.

I was it that show and tweaked my parts too, that doesnt mean i wrote it. I even transcribed everything but it doesnt make it mine!

Although i have never attempted to produce anything of signifigance drum and bass does sound pretty simple. A hard bass beat, some breaks, some gangsta spittin lyrics, a simple melody, and you have a hit track!

I understand fully how Drum and Bass is set up and structured for the most part. but there is still a big difference between talking about how to make an aesthetic drum piece, and actually 'making' one that gets out there and is popular and quality. We already know what makes a song successful, the hard part is always finding that route.. no matter what genre.

would need to get the time to write a new DnB song out. Making it is easy. its the time effort of writting it down that takes time.

I can write in no problem. If i had the time i would do it right now. But right now i have school, work, this Pendulum think i wanna finish, and my car. and right now my car comes first....maybe when i get done with all the other stuff i am doing and get started with Pasadena CC Band i will start that...but that wont be till next month...other things come first
