Well as some of you might know i have studied music for about 8 years and have studied music theory and composition. Some of you might also know that i love playing drums and have played with several Drumlines and Percussion Groups on the west coast.
Well just because i was bored and stoned last night i started a new little side thing. I am gonna take the Pendulum Song "Still Grey" and write it into sheet music just by using my ear. I have gotten a bit into it and it should take me about a week more days of just doing it during my spare time. As long of work doesnt get in the way too much. Hopefully i should be done with this next week and have it writen out from Hand written to Clean and printed of clean Sheet Paper. After i am done with it i am sending a copy to Pendulum just to see what they think. I am still not a big huge DnB fan....probley cause its really eazy to make. Yeah for summer!!! ![]() |

Yeah, i will post it up very soon. I am writting it by hand in standard Drum Instruction Method. Once i am done writting half of it by hand i will enter it in "Finale" and post it. I Wrote down "Paranoid android" by Radio Head for school by ear and this DnB is alot easier |

Its just as hard to make a quality and popular DNB track as it is to make a track from any other genre nameable. Especially for someone who knows music to that level of knowledge being stated, that kind of statement should never be thrown out there like that.

Okay, but seriously...
If someone is going to hate on a genre of music and talk so lightly of it's simplicity...I would like to see some personal productions of that the same genre. |

see, i have played Drums for 4 years in high school, The santa anna winds, long beach junoir concert band, and pasadena CC. Over the past couple years i have written maybe Cadences, Drum Shows and breaks for entire drumlines (so of these peices may have up to 30 people in the drumline played different instruments). These are way harder to write than a DnB song for me aleast because you are not using constant loops. I am trying to host a file of my High school line playing an original peice i wrote. DnB uses loops in 4/4 usually and uses 1 center loop while changing other other aspects of several other loops which in drum terms is called a "Fill". You can throw a fill in anywhere and base any song off a loop with fills....simple work. What makes these fills and loops so attractive to alot a people is the same reason why rap/hip-hop is popular...It plays off the back or the 2 and the 4 in 4/4 time. anyone likes this because its easy to find the 2 and the 4 in 4/4 time....anyone can do it...and thats why people can listen to it...because they can find the 2 and the 4 easy. You can groove to the 2 and the 4 just by instinct. writing stuff for drumlines and such is harder than making DnD because you play drums live most of the time....its the way its played also..... the way you play an instument is a big part of how things come out. |

some people might finds things easy that others find complicated. Mabye he is just very musically talented. Some people learn quickly. I mean, i know people who have been singing since they were 2-3-4 that took lessions, studdied theory, etc. And there are still people who only have been singing for 5 years and are much better.
