Wow, what a night....
So the line was about, 20 minutes for me and my group and we got there at around 830.... we just went right to the front and met another plur group who were happy to bring us in.... Security was by far the easiest i have ever been through at any event.... one of my friends even had an open bottle of smart water, which is a pretty big bottle, and he walked right through with it... I didnt take anything out of my pockets, got a 2 pat pat down, and the guy just kinda shook my backpack and let me on my way. The vibe was really awesome throughout the night.... everyone was very nice considering how packed the stairs were, which is where i give my first criticism... the big stairs going down to the field should have been a 2 lane highway instead of a 1 lane clusterfuck. Im not even sure why they didnt do it in the middle of the night because it seems like a pretty quick fix... So i really only stayed on the field the whole night because it just became too much of a pain to go back up the stairs to see the different sets. I got there right as Eddie was finishing up, which was sad because he is amazing.... Lawrence was decent, but then, to my ultimate disappointment, Bennassi sucked big time. The only good song he played was "bring the noise" and the rest of his track list was softer low energy music with maybe a couple of good drops... I have seen him live twice, once in SF and another recently in LA, and he was off the hook both times, but for some reason when he is put in the trance scene he failed. I know they would never have done it, but they should have swapped him with Eddie Halliwell... Eddie would have destoryed the crowd from 1030 -12. While Bennassi disapointed, Moby was sick. At first I was really disappointed to see him in the clutch 12-2 spot and was planning on going elsewhere, but he kicked it off with "Disco Lies (Spencer & Hill Remix)" and it was all good from there. He even had some of his classic sounds mixed in with some harder beats which was a pleasure. It was about half way through moby's set that i started to realize how crowded the field was, which i don't remember from last years event.... Does anyone know how many people were there last night? I honestly think it was 60k considering monster massive has had 40k in the past and that was at the sports arena.... the entire field was packed, 30% of the stands, and all of the upper dance floors... PVD was cool.... we left at 3 because it was just too packed and we had already had an amazing time, so no reason to drag it out towards exhaustion. On a side note, the sound system was alright. I thought i was going to be insane considering they were bragging about it on the website, 150,000 watts, etc... but it didn't blow me away. Overall, this event was totally awesome... This is by far my favorite venue since it is outdoors and HUGE. I really wish they did Monster Massive or nocturnal at this place instead of the sports arena because it gets soooo hot. Next year i will definitely try and check out some of the other stages and hopefully they will fix the stair cluster issue. I gave an insane light show to a really nice guy, then he said it was so good he brought back 8 of his friends and i laid it down for them big. That always makes me happy See you all again soon, Elamenop ![]() |

Nocturnal Wonderland 2008 will most likely be at the Colliseum or Sports Arena

in terms of the sound, keep in mind we were outdoors.
if everything was indoors that shit would have made us deaf by the end. it was plenty loud for the amount of airspace it needed to cover. |
