I don't consider myself a Raver.
Most house, hardcore, DnB, Jungle and trance are too fast for my dancing pace. (The rate at wich I step, swing in line with the beat) I consider myself to be a baby of true hip hop. But I find the culture and most importantly the people of "raving" (to be what keeps me in this "scene". I own NO CD's or wax of any DJ. (No mars and mystery, no Tiesto, none of that) I've been in and out of this scene for something like 10/12 years (and) have worked alot of skills (the promotion team) shows up in San Fransisco (as security) (when I worked as security) I would always bring a case of water to pass out for free. I consider this ("rave scene") to be a part of me but not more than most things (hip-hop, Buddhism, the Tao, the sciences) But you guys (,) the REAL ones are just way to(o) cool for words. Plus like everyone's been saying the fake ones are all E-tarded up so there kinda cool by default (usuallt these trendy types who are at a rave are on drugs, so they are a little easier to manage and deal with) As compared to other fake people in other groups. Think about back in like late 90's when hip hop and ravin were like hella tight knit. (Metropolis 1999 or 2000 Hieroglyphics played, Liviing Legends, Abstract Rude, Mika 9 all have performed at one rave or another back in the day.) Multi taskin at work.... FAIL I say all this becasue I noticed when the scene as a whole is more inclusive it tends to be more positive and layed back. |
