Bubble Bobble and the whole 4R vs RL ish

You know... I think I probably acted a little hastily in posting the lineup for Bubble Bobble on RL like I did as if I were promoting for it. I got it in an email from Quervo, but there's so much going around about this that I dont know what to believe, other than the fact that I've known Wires for 6 years now (with a break in the middle) and he has no reason to lead me astray. Additionally, I recently met Quervo who has yet to demonstrate he's anything but straight up to me, and everyone whom I talk to about him has nothing but good things to say.

Wires is scheduled to open... Quervo at 1

I'll repeat... seeing these two guys is enough for me to go hang out. I mean shit its free... and if those two are spinning, and the shit falls through, I'm sure the two of them will either know something else to go do, or come up with something to go do, so either way... I'll have a good night.

but to you all, especially those respecting my opinion on RL...

DO NOT LET MY OPINION OF THIS PARTY INFLUENCE YOUR DECISION

My reasons for going are more than likely different from your own reasons for choosing a party.

Again and again and again I say I can only pass on what i've been told first hand... but I'm quite certain that Bassik and Munky are probably passing on what they know first hand.

IT DOES SOUND SHADY AS FUCK... or at very least, poorly organized, and poorly promoted.


Munkey & Bassik: I feel I should appologize to you for... well, pretty much in other words, calling you shady liars in that first post of mine. That wasnt my intent. You guys gotta realize that after partying for YEARS in seattle, i've only been here a few months... and in fact been to VERY few parties here. I wasnt around for 'Return to Orion', I dont know the background, and I dont know you guys. All I know is that the few people I have met and respect here, told me this was gonna go off. So *shrugs* I think I did what anyone in my shoes would have done. I CANNOT deny the argument you guys have presented, every point seems very valid. I just hope you can see where I'm coming from, and why I'll be out at BB.

On a related note: The posts for this party have opened up a whole different can of worms. I REALLY dont get how the scene down here is so divided... these kids hating on those kids and vice versa. And why? Because they post on different places on the internet? Because those kids are saying these kids are n00bs (which could be argued to be true for the most part)? Or because these kids are saying those kids are all jaded (which could again be argued to be true for the most part)? I mean shit... though I hate to say it, I'm at least partially jaded, and I was at one point a n00b. I went through a period of time for about a year, that I tried to stop being a raver, got myself a good career going, a new car, cleaned up my act, etc etc etc. But after I moved to San Diego I realized that the music was to much a part of me and I couldnt stay away. So one night in November, I was fiending for something to do and I stumbled upon Ravelinks. I started posting there, Id probably have to say for 2 reasons: #1) They had a San Diego forum #2) They were very welcoming. Someone was throwing a house party that night... I sent a PM explaining my background, asking if I could attend but that if they weren't cool with that since I didnt know them I'd understand. They welcomed me with open arms and here I am to this day.

Each board group here knows, that in and amongst themselves, we talk shit to each other... its a message board, its to be expected. So just because you dont know someone, doesnt mean they arent going to do it either. Dont take shit posted on here so seriously. Its the same everywhere you go... down here, nor cal, portland, seattle, vancouver... people LOVE to talk shit on the internet... Another thing to take into account is that you CANNOT hear voice inflection through text. Something could be intended one way, and interpreted another simply because the reader didnt know the tone, inflection, and body language of the typist.

4R: Yea ok, so maybe the some of the RL kids have a lot to learn... but at one point we all did. I dont think there are any of us in the scene that are/were angels. But each of us that were, that are still here today, are still here because of 2 things... #1) we have a universal love for the musicRLers... #2) there were other people around who we learned from, or at very least with. If you're not a n00b, regardless of whether they post on here, over there, or nowhwere, its kinda like lookin after your kid brother/sister. They're a pain in the ass sometime, but they can also be really great to be around. Now I'm not saying you have to babysit anyone, but offering some guidance, suggestions or advice would be cool. Though I know, it can be frustrating if they wont listen.

RLers: think about it.. think about it, how many times have I kinda scolded someone or a group of people, whether it be for posting all over online about what drugs they did/are doing/going to do, to whether or not they should be spinning at a party so soon. I'll admit it... I can be a bitch sometimes, but I think its been pretty clear to all of you that I only do it because I'm genuinely concerned for each of you, and for the scene. I think Grendel put it best when he said

"Tygon's just looking out for everyone. That's his way..caring but gruff."

That comment actually made me smile... a LOT! Someone (who really only kinda knows me) ACTUALLY gets me. So I dont believe these guys were coming over to start shit or anything... if anything, people like Munkey and Bassik WERE trying to look out in all of our best intrests... and perhaps, the majority of you should listen to them, that's not my decision to make.

I guess what I'm really trying to say with this whole drawn out rant here... is that it just seems, that with as much as PLUR is dropped all over the place, that its really pretty lacking in the Unity side of things. I'm pretty certain that most of us would all get along if we'd drop some of these petty little misconceptions and labels, and all just intermingled a bit more. I'm sure there are quite a few of us already that cross over on the boards from time to time if not frequently. This bickering and fighting is doing nothing except creating further division, and annimosity. And the only one who's really winning is Uncle Sam... who wants to drag our scene out into the back fourty and put a bullet in its head.
