Sober is how i rave =)

I've never been a fan of doing things that change my consciousness, it really doesnt matter to me. I love raves for the music, not the substances going on around there. I agree with what the both of you are saying. EDUCATE yourself! Don't do drugs for the sake of getting as fucked up as possible!

I ended up having a small lightshow battle with Lokee this weekend

needless to say
I admited defeat

it was definetly a highlight of my night though
and it was maybe.....2-3 mins long
not long at all

but it still made the rest of my night at least a little better

don't brag to me how it's your first party and you're rolling mega balls off like, eight pills.

don't just come up and wave your glowsticks in my face and tell me to just give you a second because it looks cool.

there is more to the scene rather than just a place for you to sell your drugs, buy drugs, and injest them without mommy and daddy finding out.

have some respect for yourself, and others!!!!
I normally never post on here, but topics like this both stir my interest and remind me of the first parties I ever went to.
Just the same I remember the first party I rolled at, and how nearly everyone I met I felt the need to share that I was rolling and it was my first time doing it and Hi my name is Trooper!
And throughout the next year or so of parting I remember all the random people I would just walk up and give hugs to, all the amazing people I met and the fact that everyone seemed to be looking out for each other. I remember the parties where there'd be one guy sitting in a corner shaking back and forth, and some ravers would go over to talk to him in case he was tripping bad.
People seemed to care more.

A lot has changed since then. Or at least it seems like it has...it's hard to tell exactly what's going wrong, whether it's greedy production companies that lie about headliners or venues, or if it's the people that rave that are changing.

It could always just be that the problems everyone is seeing now have always been there; it's just that the novelty of raves has worn off, so less of us are blinded to the flaws inherent in the scene.

I don't know.

All I know for sure is that the clearest problem I see now is of people disrespecting the power that drugs have.
That same disrespect manifests itself in newbie ravers rolling off 5+ pills their first time (like jellybean pointed out), people not researching the effects that drugs have and therefore thinking their brain isn't susceptible to damage, and people adopting this whole "Fuck other people if they can't handle their shit" ethos.

That last part is really fucking sad because in a scene like this where drug use is prevalent there NEEDS to be some semblance of compassion for other people.
That lack of respect for drugs and other people (seems to me) is what's sucking all of the goodness out of the scene.

OK, I think I've been on my soapbox long enough.

Have a good day, Groove-Kittens!

This is how we do it

- take the scene back underground

that is all..

If anyone wants to help work towards this I seriously am ready.. I have a plan of action and simple steps that can make this work. But we have to band together and pitch in. A REAL underground crew, about plurr and not aboot money.

thanks for listening, anyone want to join me hit me up

i think the compassion for people that wanna destroy themselves has run out as their numbers grew to the majority. i wanna help those that are willing to listen. its good to see that people still care n all but short of passing out flyers with information on rolling at every party, theres no way to change the masses besides sites like this. so thats y i posted this. to give those that dont know any better some ideas, and those that have given up some hope.

as for the fuck everyone that cant handle their shit, thats y i said the people they came with need to monitor each other. if people would just say 'hey man you kno you already took 3 pills tonight, you should slow down' or 'hey bro, your 22 and you have a pacifier in your mouth, heres some gum' wed prob have less people acting completly retarded. when people see other people doing stupid shit they think its acceptable and let themselves go too.

honostly all it would take is a few crews of real ravers comin to raves bringin the vibes back (like IHF USED to be) to get a following. people would be like, holy shit that (whatever) they do is awesome i wanna copy!
bring back the visers and phat pants, get rid of the nudity. and for the love of god, BRING BACK THE DANCING!

and yes sometimes its the crews, sometimes its the party goers. it comes in waves. currently its the partygoers ruining the partys, the crews are actually doinga good job now. the hudson has really picked things up. i wish we could do more outdoor parties though but we seem to be short venues( cough dustin cough) hahahahahah

you create the vibes. what you bring is what will reflect onto everyone else. so if you lose control then other people will think its acceptable too.

LETS SAVE WHATS LEFT OF RAVING PEOPLE!
Acid helping liquiding = truth. Still trying to get liquiding down, but it's just not coming.

I went to Tigger Loves you, my first rave since TAO, (TAO fucking blew in my mind, horrible time, it really put me off raving for a bit.) and everyone was 12. Some 15 year old came up to me, rolling balls, and he kept being all proud about it. It was kind of gross. Like he wasn't just rolling hard, he was pretty out of it. I kept see 'bags whereever I went. Bros with da hoes, everywhere. No one was friendly. My friend and I went up to people trying to talk to them as they were off the floor and they just were so angry it seemed. Most people weren't dancing and overall the crowd was just...so....bleh.

What happened people? What happened to all the kids I used to meet at parties, who were happy about everything, everywhere?

I've been trying to figure out reasons why people were such......lamers. I mean, was it the place where it was? at a club? so it was full of club kids? Bad drugs? Maybe because of the sound problems that seemed to happen all over? Loss of the Moonbounce? I really don't know, just I miss the old crowd. Hell I haven't even been into raves that long, since fuckin' Nocturnal of last year, and I can already see a difference.

Bleh.

id say since sin shitty its been goin downhill pretty bad, but as of late its been absolutely wretched. i remember how fun winterfresh was. remember that huge ass breaking circle? or the 2 lightshow crews that showed up and battled. hell alot of the people there were doing good lightshows. that party was fuckin amazing.

on a side note, id have to say greensector and psytribe have gotten more rave then the raves we know lol. the greensector with shpongle had some amazing lightshows going and 90% of the crowd was dancing their asses off. yes they had their share of flooredtards but it wasnt to hte point of annoyance or retardation and everyone was REALLY friendly. we made friends with like 5-6 new people that night that were just happy to be there and talk.

anyways that just shows me its still possible to have good vibe parties with that rave spirit....so why cant the actual raves do it?

im sorry you had such a bad time at tiggers though. u given up completly or gonna give ravin another try?

Man, I can't dance for shit, and my knowledge of edm is pretty lacking, but I love to dance to those funky beats. haha.

I love raves, they let me be out and about enjoying myself with people I enjoy being around. Meeting old friends and all that.

I'm not done raving, and won't be for a while, if ever. Just partying sober has really opened my eyes to how fucked raves seem to be getting.

I'll probably be at Nocturnal(Benny B., Chemical Brothers, what more could I ask for? Maybe some Aphex Twins, but they would never play a rave haha.), and maybe Monster Massive, just because I like meeting all the newbags that legitimately enjoy it all. I'm just worried the floortards and the drugbags are going to be out in full force and continue to ruin the fun I used to have.

Still I'm here for a bit longer at the very least.
