well, ok. that was an oversimplified response, but i recomend watching the documentary Grass directed by Ron Mann. I haven't seen it in about a year but it basically says that around 1900 tension was rising because of the influx of mexican-americans. Pot was introduced into America by immagrant field laborers who would smoke it after tilling the fields and what not.

anyways eventually utah banned it becuase of mormans and other states followed suit. Then Anslinger came along and started pitching all sorts of random propaganda about how reefer makes you crazy or kill people. (but i got some of that info from this site:[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] becuase i couldn't remember what happened in the documentary lol)

i also recommend reading reefer madness.

And I hope everyone who advocates cannabis legalization realizes that the term "marijuana" was created and made popular by the government in order to feed off of that racism against Mexicans.

Although there are many other very very good uses for pot instead of smoking it, you all can't say that you are on the bandwagon for legalizing pot because of those uses. You just want to really smoke it out in public like it ain't no thang while the cops are watching.

Hey, I used to be a big pot head and was all for legalizing it. Oh yeah, think of the clothes and the fuel and we can make all sorts of things out of pot. I just wanted to be able to smoke it and not have to watch over my back for somebody to narc me out or the cops or somebody's parents. I wanted it to be like it was no big thang. They can still make clothing (and they do) and have several other uses for marijuana. Today I'm a little disturbed when people are for marijuana as alternative fuels and clothing and other stuff, when really if they were honest, they just want to spark up. If they found out that if you add cocaine to cement, it makes it stronger and flexible, so earthquakes wouldn't do much damage, there would be all the cocaine heads out there trying to promote safer buildings and bridges and how it's not about how they just want to use cocaine. So now we are here with alternative fuels and clothing and medicine and all this other stuff, when you all know the truth. You just want to legally spark up.


I think the real questions I would be asking everybody are:

1) Do you really think it will make a difference in your life if pot were legal to smoke?

2) What would that difference be?
