I would need a couple factors present:

1. BOMB lineup - MAJOR headliners in all genre's, including hardcore, house, trance, techno, DnB (and not just jungle/jump-up), and breaks, and not the usual ones that get pulled in. I wanna see acts that you'd see on the flyer for Sensation White/Black or similar european festival. (Psst...someone bring Axwell here)

2. $1 waters - no explanation needed.

3. VIP tickets under $100 with open bar.

4. Thrown by a production group that will enforce a cap of 4,000 people and ENFORCE it (that means no letting extra people in just to make money).

5. Chill security, helpful staff, and services to ravers i.e coat checks.

6. Security in the parking lot to prevent theft.

I could probably come up with 3-4 others, but those are the big ones off the top of my head. I know Hudson/Gotham is expensive, and booking major acts is expensive, but at $65/head a production group could easily pull off all of the above. Just as a starting point:

4000 x $65 = $260,000 on tickets
4000 x $1.50 (1-2 waters per person) = $6000 on water

My .02

Do they serve alcohol at the Hudson?

If so, then I might pay to go there. Otherwise, I'd only go if
I was sent there to promote.

Seriously: the Hudson situation (and how you all seem to feel about it) is damn near exactly how we used to feel about the Masterdome.
Or even the Orion. Ho-rion.

Hoooooo-rion.

i never felt bad or straight out disliked the masterdome or the people running it. Now the hudson.. fuck the people running it. Not the venue but the people. those two venues are just not even on the same wavelength as far as i am concerned. the whorerion was just a sess pool of diseases. GROSS... but home to some.

I know: i referred to the amount of shit talking I've heard.
From the pics I've seen, the Masterdome and the Hudson are stark opposites...
But yeah, it makes sense that it's the people running the Hudson that irritates
everyone.

Another one people talked shit about a lot: Fox Theater. Honestly, I liked the layout of that place. I never had a problem there..
Yeah!! One of my friends from back then was always DOWN to go to
Ho-rion. and especially....SMOKEY'S in Baldwin Park. I did not like that place.

People are so angry at the Hudson.

I was hanging out with some ravers last night that were saying "oh man, last time I was at the Hudson I was soooo tempted to just take a rock to the window... god that shit's so tempting".

"DUDE guys we should burn it down. Really. are guys down? we totally need to burn that shit down"

NOT REALLY. It's a pretty nice, permitted venue. It's pretty big. I like the carpet on the walls. I like when they open the Gotham. I don't mind the Hudson, and people need to stop complaining that 1) it's so far away and 2) too many parties are there.

because 1) NOT EVERYONE LIVES IN LONG BEACH OR LA LIKE YOU GUYS. SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO DRIVE TO RAVES. TOUGH SHIT.

2) THEN DON'T GO PARTYING EVERY WEEKEND.

Very sound reasoning.
Not for the sake of putting any Hudson-haters down:
If you go talk to some people from other states - or even in
other countries - where raves are not only completely illegal, but
they literally happen MAYBE once per year,
you would realize how totally lucky we all are.
To be fair, I would say the same to myself for "hating" the Masterdome, and
anyone else who felt that way about it as well. We have it so freakin good
with our choices and what we have available to us, that it's probably sickening to people with such minimal choices.
If we wanted to, we could just go to a club on a random ass Tuesday,
and have just as much fun (situation providing) as a full-blown rave, with the exact kind of music any one of us may want to be hearing.

Sorry if this sounds grating: I do believe you all have good intentions
towards your scene. I'm no expert, and I really don't mean to preach shit you already know.
Just a suggestion:
Appreciate this awesome situation which all of us have at our disposal. The more you do, the better it is anyways!
