Haha some of you guys have pretty cool stories...but how about this one:
Paisley, Circa 2000 or so...I was getting into that whole P2P downloading scheme that was breaking out contagiously. However, in my adolescence, I was mostly just into punk music and stereotypical white suburban hoo-ha. While scanning around Napster (back before it cost anything) I was looking for an old punk song called Drinking Diesel but ended up downloading a ton of Dieselboy by mistake. ...Or was it fate? |

DnB...is the reason why I go to raves. First rave was Howsweet08, first tent, dnb. Got hooked right then n there. Don't even need to roll to get high off it.
dnb's to rock your head off...trance is to chill wit your girl. |

It's understandable to not like someone but because you don't like them doesn't mean they suck. XYZ spits well. He is clear, fluid, and can rhyme very well. Most MC's repeat themselves so they get boring quickly or spit jibberish so you can't understand what they are saying. Listen to XYZ's back2back sessions. He doesn't spit through the entire sets but when he does spit, it is good. One of the best things about XYZ is he doesn't do rewinds. I have seen him MC an entire set where he does not do a rewind. At most he will do 1 and I give him props for that. I fucking hate when MC's rewind the track. I don't care how sick the track is. It kills the vibe. It haults the flow. Anyway, I got off topic. XYZ is good. You may not like someone but that doesn't mean they suck.

I feel pretty dorky for saying this, but it was a WoW video I watched a few years ago.
It had High Contrast's remix of "Remember the Future" by London Elektricity, which - to this day - is still one of my favorites, hah. |

I have a big love and hate relationship with DnB. Sometimes I feel like "This shit is insane" and other times I feel like "What the hell is this crap?". Can't quit remember what got me into DnB. I can tell you this much that I'm more into the Jazzy/Brazilian DnB/Jungle sound
PS: I'm also a Happy Hardcore/DnB lover. ![]() |

at 16.I was a b-boy, tagger, thug-ish when growing up on the southside of chicago (35th n damen!), my boy bobby (rip) got me a fake ticket to a rave and we got in, ate acid... saw Dextrous & king of the jungle on tour from the uk in 1993/2 at a ripe party???? here in chicago.. saw the dj & mc playing the oldschool (new back then) jungle.. crazy amens and almost hardcore beats... acid+Huge speakers+lights+hip hop, reggae samples =dope time, especially when they were new, and there was no movie to show kids how to rave or how to look, it was all new and original... coming from hip hop it felt natural.. i was born a junglist in warehouse and baptized as an underground soldier ever since!

They are having a summer party over here in Hong Kong with some wicked breakbeat DJ's! Plump DJ's and Hyper... I am looking forward to a proper party with some PROPER music.
I hope you are all enjoying the same kind of events all over the world. Tiesto came in April but I was very disappointed, he only spun for 2 hours and it was overrated commercialised stuff which I am totally against. I am hoping for some organic, interesting beats and just having a fantastic time dancing to some REAL music. Can't wait! For those of you who are looking for a great tune, download "the Push/ Remember my Name" on Finger Lickin', by Plump DJ's. It's totally wicked. ![]() ![]() ![]() (that'll be me soon... ) Last edited by dancerootZ; 27.6.2008 at 5:38 am. Reason: none |
