Um first it was the drum...then the bass. or was it the bass first?
I guess it comes down to what came first the drum or the bass? ![]() |

I was 6 years old one day when the ice cream man came down our street, I ordered a drum stick and bass ball chewing gum.
Thats what got me into drum and bass |

I always liked Drum n Bass, but never wanted to accept that it was going to ever be better than trance. Until EDC 05 i started realizing how innovative/intense/fun the music really was. (i made me and my girlfriend leave the basspod because i thought it was "so sick we had 2 leave") Later that year, i ran into my cousins friends at a bbq where i was invited to come n spin trance on the decks of a junglist party. This is wher i met my current good friends/partners in crime (Dirty Deeds, Heavy Hittahz, Toxic Krysis, DTraxx 'Hope i didnt leave anyone out') all spinning jump up. I couldnt believe what i was hearing and decided to switch formats and learn how to spin like them. I still love trance, but Drum n Bass is definitely my Second wife now muwahhaha. Thank u friends for steering me towards the light. I currently now have been producing Drum n Bass for the past year and a half and there is no turning back 4 me now im too deep into it hehehehe

I was the checking out the DJ DB and DJ LION tapes that were floating around, cuz they were some NEW, SERIOUS bizness, but the moment that put DnB forever in my heart was the first time I heard Adam F - Circles on the PA at NASA

Drum'n'bass was always on the top of my faves list but what threw me over was at a house party in St. Louis in '99, I was given a mix by DJ Friction & DJ Spice called Transformed: The 4 Turntable Mix CD. It was a sick breakbeats CD which I still playout regularly. Well, I knew Friction and Spice were both D'n'B DJ's but never really paid attention to D'n'B since I was obsessed with house and dirty agressive European techno so I started listening to D'n'B more and more. Now, my ipod has seriously about 40-50 gigs of nothing but D'n'B songs and mixes and probably another 20-30 on my computer that aren't even on my ipod.

Bruv, the new scene does not blow. That's an opinion and not a fact. The scene has just changed and apparently you don't like the change. I personally love the new shit. Mark G, Hazard, Social Security, Benny Page, Lowtek Predator... Those guys all produce some sick fuckin' bumpin' tracks nowadays. Fuckin' bumpin'!!!
