The Background
Derbv based label: Technique Recordings has been fast gaining momentum, becoming fixtures on Radio One's 'Zane Lowe' & 'Annie Mac' show. With last Novembers' 'The Nature Of The Beast' Album securing top ten drum and bass album status and 'The Odyssey' stealing the top spot in the Radio 1 dance charts, Drumsound & Simon Bassline Smith are a collective firmly rooted in the D&B premiership.

Recent label appearances include: V Recordings, Renegade Hardware, Full Cycle, Creative Source, & Formation not to mention their latest anthem on Breakbeat Kaos: 'Killer DJ' gaining major support from an array of prominent industry heads in both clubs and radio alike.


The Album
'Street Technique' is a compilation of brand new tracks and will drop in March 06 in formats: 4 piece vinyl, 12" sampler and 2x CD. Featuring ground-breaking tracks from heavyweights: Roni Size, Fresh. Friction, Artificial Intelligence, J Majik & Wickermann, Skyver & D Jon, Phetsta and of course, Drumsound & Simon Bassline Smith, it is an album of biblical proportions! Tracks like 'Booty Call' by Drumsound & Bassline Smith 'Friends' by Roni Size 'Crossfire Danger' Friction Remix are already getting rewound in the sets of Andy C, Hype, Grooverider and Bryan Gee

Technique News:

Drumsound & Simon Bassline Smith have made some of the most vital dancefloor drum and bass music of the last few years. Releases like Odyssey (Prototype) Killa DJ (Breakbeat Kaos), Rasta Blasta (Liquid V) and their Nature Of The Beast LP on Technique has proved beyond doubt they’re part of the A-list when it comes to cutting-edge drum and bass.

2006 sees the duo launch one of their most impressive projects to date. The second long player sees Drumsound & Bassline Smith move from an artist album to a compilation based package. This has enabled them to select tracks from some of the leading names in the industry including a cut from Roni Size who very rarely releases anything outside of the Full Cycle / V Records camps. Big-hitters Fresh, Friction, J Majik & Wickerman, A.I, Tali plus Technique stalwarts Skyver & Djon and Drumsound & Bassline Smith are also set to feature.

The heavyweight sampler Booty Call by Bassline Smith & Drumsound b/w Roni’s Bus Stop is due in March with the full vinyl LP due in April before the CD touches down in May. The diaries are already filling up in anticipation for the Street Technique World Tour. Please contact:
