M.I.A. is an autonomous collective of self-directed individuals who share a common steadfast commitment to the proliferation of hardcore drum n bass the world over. Established in Chicago in 2006. M.I.A. was founded as an answer to the sudden rise of the liquid jungle and smoother side of drum n bass. The founders and original members felt that their sound of choice was being pushed aside While the liquid was slowly taking over djs record crates. While some of the M.I.A. djs enjoy and play liquid we all agree there is no comparison with the out of control sounds that dark, techy, jumpup and ragga have. So in march of 2006 M.I.A. made its face known with its 1st event called Rollcall, soon followed a string of 100% jungle drum n bass shows in clubs, raves and a weekend campout called "Rollcall Massive". Currently M.I.A. djs can be found in California, Arizona, Massachusetts, Indiana, North Carolina, New Jersey, Oregon, Ohio, Wisconsin and the collectives current home base Chicago.
