its strange to see all of the tunes that you guys think are the best. honestly most of the music you all mentioned dosent even get touched out here on the east coast. actually ive NEVER seen a wobble or anything close to it show here. some kids listen to pendulum and fresh and all that garbage out this way but for the most part its hard step and a small bit of jump up(but not really since like 97 or 98).
its funny to see how the east and west coast differ on this subject. in cleveland (im in fla right now) it was all hard house and tech step jungle. down in fla .....wellllllll.......i am surrounded by a buncha breaks kids ![]() GOD HOW I HATE ME SOME BREAKS!!! ![]() Quote:
WOW thats a long list to only have 1 good track in it.....lol Last edited by djekimgoespoo; 8.1.2008 at 3:42 pm.. Reason: automerged doublepost |

Yo whoever you are growing up in cleveland and moving to FLa does not make you any sort of east coaster or authority on what we listen to on the east coast. Next week along we got g-dub and taxman in NYC. Not to mention clipz was here less than a year ago, lemon- d was here in the last month, Hype, and a whole buch of others who rep the wobble and the jump up. Please dont try to rep a place you arent from. Ohio is midwest not east coast. Thanks

well champ you think those are the only scenes i pay attention too? you think i dont go around to shows? your ignorant as to what my knowledge of music is. im not saying they dont get booked but they do spin some shitty records heres a good question, how many attended the shows? anyway... there are lil spots of ALL genres of music all over the place. and youre in fucking NYC for gods sake. a hippie banging a fucking pan can get 300 peeps to show. pffft |

500 for goldie who was reppin the wobble two or so weeks ago. clipz, jj frost, brockie, hype, kenny ken, shy fx, grooverider, fabio etc. and the rest had anywhere between 300 and 600 a show. You might go around to shows but on either coast you will still find mad jump up and wobble. You dont see those kinds of numbers for the likes of limewax, evol intent, dylan, tech itch anywhere on the coast that you claim to be reppin. Please dont try to school me on what goes on where I have lived my entire life. I have been to shows in multiple cities in Ohio and the jungle was barely repped at the larger events, and when I saw kenny ken out in Cinci there were maybe 100 kids. And if you think getting those numbers is easy you are out of your mind. NYC is not what it used to be and getting 5-600 kids on a week day when the majority of these shows are thrown is easy you got another thing coming to you. Not to mention the vast majority of djs from NYC do not rep the harder sounds.
So please buddy enlighten me as to what makes you such an authority to claim that they all spin shit records. You know the guys who played the largest roles in creating this genre that you are such an expert on. Where have you traveled for all of these shows you speak of. |

you know... i saw goldie the other week and he spun tech step. maybe just maybe youre a fan of jump and wobble?
well i can say that i pay attention to alot just because im a dj myself and you gotta be blind to not notice all the hard step and tech step around. you are right champ... somewhat. but the problem is that we wont see eye to eye on this and theres no real way to prove either point. so we can leave it at this... you are a shit talking html thug that goes around getting off on replying like a moron on msg boards ;D ![]() ![]() ![]() |

First off you wanna call me an html thug? I am right here and not trying to hide. I speak my mind but once attacked as your initial response I go on the offensive. Secondly I am not blind to any of it I just see what is realistically and the draws for someone like lets say Hype as opposed to lets say Tech Itch. Both long time players in the game, two different sounds bring both to NYC or wherever and who is getting the larger response? I am not saying that it doesnt exist and that there arent parties for it ie KJ most monday's and some of the one off hardcore parties incorporate the stuff, but out of all the jungle weeklies and monthlies there is only 1 out of 10 reppin that style.
IN all reality I was annoyed at your generalization of the east coast when it does not pertain to the North East at all. This is my home, this is where I have always lived. I dont try to rep places I am not from. Yes I am into jump up and wobble ragga and dubwise and so on but it is not going to make the facts of this coast any less true. |
