Jungle is more organic sounding with a lot more sub basslines and surrounds more ragga culture. Dnb is more electronic blah blah blah.

I always thought that Jungle was sort of a derrogitory term, and that most of the artists wanted to get away from that moniker. I thought that is why Drum & Bass is term that is more frequently used now...

originally it was but then the term just slipped into the main stream. Jungle music originally was just a deragatory term for all black music in england (i think), but it just stuck with what we consider jungle and people became used to it or something. Shit gets confusing. |

My opinion: Drum & Bass is Jungle with longer darker spine splitting bass lines

Personally i wouldnt call shut up and dance jungle, it catorgrise some of it as jungle, mostly oldskool breakbeat techno realyl with a bit of hip hop thrown in. Jungle is like dnb but more rythmic, often with very trancey breakdowns. And piano ryths simaler to oldskool hardcore. Then true this evovled to become dnb (note. dnb is pants, jungle is good please dont confuse the two its just rude) |

I think DnB is just another name for jungle or vise versa. It's like when people started talking about hydro, and then came along indoe (slang for indoor, which some confused and thought it was indonesia weed. wack!), same thing. Who cares what came first. It's a chicken or the egg riddle.
