that got your attention didnt it. today, my fellow trance heads, i would like to talk about a subject which is close to my heart............
The Fall of The Tiesto Empire yes im afraid its gone (in the words of Eye-Ball Paul) "tits-up" for the once great man. his new album was a waste of my ear. the time in hospital must have boggeled his noggle or something. not one tune is worth a mention. if there are any americans listening im sure you love his new album. and the reason is.........................his album was made with the simpler of thought in mind. in closing friends i would like to dedicate this thread to the true worshipers at the alter of trance. share your voice, lend your tuned ears and bring forward your bounty of knoledge. now go in madness and serve the trance |

I haven't been impressed with any of his material since 01-02ish, and even then I thought it was getting way more hype then it deserved.
I absolutely hate how idolized he is, mainly from the American club culture. I will even say I was part of that cult at one time. Pic to prove it, I have the Chewbacca shirt on :P ![]() What happened I think is that people started just liking anything that was released by him, because it was Tiesto. The songs didn't need to have any substance, because everyone would buy it on its name. He needs to re-create stuff like Kamaya Painters - Summerbreeze/Endless Wave/Wasteland tracks. |

junglars! praise your fortright thought fellow bipp-bipp-bop.
a true trance soul has lent his worthy voice to such a cause as this. our friend, chewbacca man, has seen the demise of sir verwest and has struck out with no mercy. you will do well to listen to this man he has wisdom beyond his years. now as it is the second noche we will delve deeper into thought........... it is true that he of sacred talent as tiesto has plundered his mighty gifts to those men of neither black or white. yes those grey souls who suck at the lifes of true believers.......THE MONEY MEN. for it was said by a great man:- "he who plunders the gold shall lose the balls to make a mighty track" mark 11:23 yes the words of brother mark should linger in our collective memories till the end of time, for he has seen the change in sound of what said tiesto has delivered us. this trully has been a productive night for all of us, not only has a fellow worshiper lent his words but we have uncovered yet another unholy truth in our quest to document The Fall of The Tiesto Empire. so till the next day after today i say trance be with you, go and serve the trance. |

I could have saved you the waste of the ear. Come on there is a song on there titled something or other about a Pirate. When I saw that I knew to put the album down and slowly walk away. There are certain "key words" to look out for. They are poison. Pirate is almost as bad as the word castle... There is a list of words but I misplaced it. Damn it. Let me dig in my drawers.
What am I babbling about oh yeah... Watch out for the words.. |

No, I am god...
Tiesto saved my life. Back in 2001 Tiesto played for us at the 1st Texas Zenfestival. It was his 1st time in texas. I was young and stupid. I didn't Know that it was about the music not the drugs. The only thing I remember is Tiesto ending his set at 2:00am. 5hrs later I wake up in a hospital still fucked up. I should of died. Now everytime I see tiesto I have flashbacks. His coming to Houston the 25th, it will be the 5th time to see him play. ![]() |

the new album is subpar at best
however, in a live set the tracks "everything" and "elements of life" from the new album are amazing rolling to |

I'll admit I'm a fan of Tiesto as a DJ...I'm also a n00b here so take from that what you want. like him as a producer? not so much.
I've always been a fan of the harder styles...HT, HS, HH....and listening to his newest CD those tracks don't nearly sound as good as they did live...saw him in LA. of course, he also had a 12,000 watt system to work with...so of course the kick was like a shotgun to the chest all night giving those tracks more of a harder feel. his skills as a DJ (however little you think of him) are greater than his skills as a producer. no doubt. |

I also am a fan of "harder styles." Like his hard techno or his older shit before he was so big. And his cds have been soft lately. But every set I have seen him play has been so much better than his cd release. |

You haters
haha...Personally I like "Everything" (the song!)... And I saw him live, playing at Roskilde Festival...fucking awesome show.. But yeah, he is getting softer, and his music isn't what it used to be, but that doesn't mean you can't like his music... You don't have to listen to music only to go crazy (or at least I don't)... And his Elements cd is just for chilling to...and nothing more ![]() But for the ravers...go to his shows, don't buy his cds.. |

To be honest. The downfall of decent trance music is what made me convert to psytrance. Yes, Tiesto had his hand in it. As well as Paul Oakenfuck, and a few numerous others who conveniently produce what is now called "progressive house". Oh well, so it life.
America is on the move. Prog trance is becoming more of a staple in clubland these days than at raves or festivals. More psytrance artists are taking their place. You want some decent trance music. Check out some Vibrasphere, or Antix. Search out some Cosmosis or Wizzy Noize. Then tell me that trance is dead. |
