Seems like Every person Either LOOOOOVES him or doesn't really have much to say about him.
I, Myself, am an admitted Corsten fanatic and would dedicate my life to work with him. Honestly, I would be his set-up bitch, promoter, part of the crew, or any other form of groupie as long as he payed me enough to have like one meal a day, some clothing, and an alright shelter. I would definitely live measily to travel around with him and go to his european events/raves. But on to my point. Is there anyone here who really does not like him or think that the people like me are stupid e-tards who like crappy trance? i honestly just wanna hear opinions from the opposition. ![]() |

Ferry definitely is one of the best Trance DJs on the planet no doubt!
It was his System F & Gouryella productions that first got me into trance ![]() I like how he's always willing to change up his style as well. Anywhere from the uplifting epic trance to the funky electo-trance hybrid. I'm a big fan of his radio show 'Corsten's Countdown' and listen to it every Wednesday! ![]() Random Ferry fact that really impresses me: At one of Ferry's shows, the warm-up DJ thought he was being clever and played all of ferry's classic tunes, as well as the well-known tunes Ferry has been known to play at recent gigs at the time. Stuff like 'Breakfast - Sunlight' or Kyau & Albert's remix of 'Love all the pain away'. But when this happened, Ferry didnt get mad at all. In fact, he actually appreciated it because it opened his eyes that he shouldnt be a predictable DJ that plays the same songs week-to-week. It gave him a chance to prove that he didnt need his own productions or predictable tunes to prove he was a great DJ and can rock the house ![]() Cant wait to go to his show in Los Angeles on April 12th! |

I'm keen on Ferry because he remixes some unpredictable shit and I think he actually has a lot more potential than we've seen from him lately. All you have to do is look at the System F remix of Clear Blue Water, compare it to any single track on L.E.F., and you get the point although I thought the Public Enemy remix was fucking genius. I have a lot of respect for people who bring the trance into other genres or who bring other genres into trance.
THat said, I think I'm going to look elsewhere for Pop because it's on my birthday and when I saw Ferry at Together As One I thought his LIVE set was predictable. It saved the night from an abysmally boring Sasha/Digweed set, but still not earth-shattering. Except for when he dropped Big Sky. I almost cried. That tune has epic significance to me. I think Ferry embodies trance in a way that no other DJ really does. I think Above and Beyond is the cutting edge but Ferry is really trance's heart. He's unabashed and unashamed. And he shouldn't be abashed, or ashamed. ![]() Last edited by Peregrine; 18.3.2008 at 10:25 pm. Reason: Because I made an unintended contradiction |

Corsten will always be a legend in my books. His set from Spundae @ Circus LA in 03 is amazing. That set really got me into trance. How he controlled the crowd with Punk is breathtaking.
Can't wait for his show next week in LA. Breakfast is playing as well ;] Mik Last edited by djmik; 6.4.2008 at 6:19 am. Reason: ~ |
