lol

I guess it depends on a lot of the tracks being played and the way the DJ is mixing. if the DJ does a really "tight" mix, the energy would be there infront of us.

To me a DJ is TIGHT if he doesn't have to use huge builds to bring energy. Energy should be from the DJ's track selection...not the constant up and down of breakdowns and buildups.

fei fei does that a grip, and you know what, when she spins at spundae it's allways in the main room...people dig it, the older asians on e doing the asian sway dig it, i love some of her sets, but the past few months have been breakdown after breakdown after breakdown...i complained to her, she didn't care much, hehe, i probably wouldn't either if i was her =)

I guess she was just playing for the room...I mean I have heard her play straight of prog and breaks and was just great!

Sometimes you gotta play for the room but there are ways to keep the energy going without resorting to cheese.

I'm 99.999% sure I can unless something pops up.....

Thee-O , I do agree /w your views on the whole trance thing. some of us like it, some of us don't. Just our preferences =) the long breakdowns and build ups are there so go-go dancers and the crowd could take a break from all that moving lol!!

if you want a trance DJ /w lots of energy these days , I'd go /w John 00 Flemming (has a lot of psy influence). I'm not very fond of the locals.

MWHAHHAHHA! I started a badass discussion by just mentioning how Airwave had like a 10 hour long breakdown

YES!!! A good DJ shouldn't need the breakdown in a track to achieve the tension and release that he's aiming for. TRACK SELECTION, jesus!

Agreed. That's why I love psytrance There's still some kickass trance tracks being produced, but a majority of the stuff is as Thee-O said, FLUFF
