stening to BPM on XM Radio, and "Rank 1 - Airwave" just came on, which made me wonder, for those RLers who listen to trance...If you had to pick your favorite trance track...what would it be?

Yeah POPSICLE was amazing, the only bust of the whole night was the GROOVETICKETS will call line, I warned my buddies not to buy their tix through groovetickets, since we had to wait 45 min. at TAO, but they waited 2 hours in the will call line for POPSICLE!!! FUCK GROOVETICKETS!

The main room at POPSICLE was off the hook though!

Jan Johnston voice is amazing. She has been in so many songs from BT to Paul Van Dyk.

for me, Push- Universal Nation is on top of the list at the moment....

there are really too many trance songs to be the "BEST".

But for the MOST UNIQUE trance song ever produced IMO is Mesh- Purple Haze. This song brings out the most abstract feelings from me I just can't really explain.

I'm sure someone is ganna post some stupid GIF sooner or later about trance. sigh bashing trance is so cool.

a top DJ/producer once said:

"...trance is only the 2nd form of music to come out in all of human history where the instrumental elements are key. When there are vocals, they are only there to support and add context to the instrumentals. Trance, by virtue of its instumentation alone, should be able to express feelings of anger, sadness, happiness, euphoria, etc."

wtf?

that dj/producer is very closed minded imo

there are plenty of styles of music, where vocals are there to support, and the main focus is on the instruments and arrangement of them

shoot man, i could say the same thing about minimal/detroit techno, "techno, by virtue of instrumentation alone, IS able to express feelings of anger, sadness, happiness, euphoria, etc."

the same can be said for various forms of NON electronic music as well

you'd be surprised who I quoted =)

or you could careless haha

I think having a title or a certain status in the game allows you to make bold statements like these to brainwash more listeners or to misguide a whole group of ppl.

I don't really listen to much minimal at all. to me it's just "bleep bleep boop bleep bleep doink doink"

please share

regardless of who he/she is, i disagree...i love instrumental music, and have since before i ever heard trance, and to say that trance is only the second genre of music to put it's focus on the instruments is a very ignorant thing to say

whoever it is, they need to do some research and rethink some things, listening to some jean michelle jarre or various tribal drumming based music would be a good thing for this dj/producer
