Rave?
Im interested in hearing whats other member opinions on the status of EDM culture in America and where it will head into the 21st century. Some people act like it had its peak allready in the 90s and it will never be the same, and alot of times it does seems like there will never be a 2nd wave. Alot of old rave djs (cough .. Richie Hawtin) seemed to have moved onto bigger and better things.EDM also isnt as popular in the states anymore as it is now in Europe and other places Personally i think this decline in popularity and shift towards a more adult crowd is due too:
A. Djs actually rake in huge profits now being able to tour around the world.
B. Dance music is like soccer in that its huge in most of the world besides the US, and many times I personally get the feeling thats its quite taboo to actually be into EDM culture.
C. mmm Drugs
D. Emo, Metal, Hip hop, jam music and all that other stuff other people listen too.
I belive its time for the entire movement to decide what we are trying to say, and where are we going to take EDM and RAVE culture.
PS sorry for that rant
