I'm sitting here on a Saturday night wondering how my life got so boring? Has the government won the war on drugs? Where's the e? or do I just not know the right people? I don't really know any people anymore because the anti rave act takes away my amendment right to peacably assemble and penalizes venue owners who want to make a couple bucks. If I own a warehouse, why can't I rent it out to people for parties. Any parties? From a square dance contest hoe-down to a rave. Don't get me wrong. I don't (didn't) need to take e at a party, but it sure as hell enhanced the experience. Shit, e enhances any experience, the rave scene is (used to be) the easiest scene to get it in. I can't help it if the goverment thinks it has no medicinal value, I do. So has the man won? Damn the man! And where's the e?

Only Narcs go around asking where the drugs are. I'm not saying your a Narc, but seriously now......I'm sorry if you can't find drugs, and since you're probably not a Narc, you'll cease and desist asking for drugs on here. |

I wasn't asking literally where's the e. . . where's anything other than pot. . .not a narc just a transplant from the LA scene to San Antonio which has no scene, just club scene, and I'm sorry, but there is a big difference. . .

i belive that e was first made here in texas, houston i want to say...not like that has anyhing to do with anything but the E scene really isnt that huge in Austin, so i wouldnt be too surprized is SA was the same way. Not saying its not down here, that'd just be ignorent of me but I have too agree its not in-your-face popular too much anymore. Bars are huge though. Never tried them, and no one can seem to give me a straight answer as what they do, or what they are made from and therefore i probably wont ever try them. I was in SA over the weekend through tuesday and at some teenager carnival down on commerece (sp) there was alot of things being sold, dispite the insaine number of cops yall have down there! alright...im rambling...ahah i really dont know why im even going on aobut this ahah but im bored...peace out, PLUR

Drugs, DRUGS, DRUGS!!
XTC!! Oh noes! ![]() She's a newbie. She didn't realise how she was going to sound. To the OP: I'm not from the states, but i'm pretty sure the problem would be both a combination of the laws in place, and a lack of connections. Maybe you could ask your friends if they know anyone who can hook you up. In my experience drugs are everywhere, almost everyone knows someone who knows someone. The above said, I get the feeling your post was more of a rant about the politics behind the lack of rave, and therefore lack of access - to which i don't really relate. I suppose that's a cultural thing, though. ![]() |

Yes, it was more of a rant. No, I'm not really a newbie. Maybe as a member to this site, but I have always gotten info and met people thru this web site. I was in the socal scene from 97-03. From what I see on this site and from what my friends tell me who still live in socal, its not what it used to be, so I was asking if its the goverments involvement or did we cause the demise of our own scene? I don't know if it's ravelinks policy but the calender of events used to 3 and 4 pages long from any given date. Lots of parties every weekend, not just massives. Are there still venues that are bust free till 6am or later like the glasshouse, masterdome, fox theater? The orange show is still used but thanks to the antirave act, it closes down its parties at 4am.
What are parties like down under? Australia has stiffer drug penalties, don't they? |

Over here in Sydney... we've been shut down maybe... twice underground since January? Ultra Trash on in Jan, and Ricochet 11 this weekend. That's pretty good i think! The scene is really starting to thrive in terms of organisation, turnout, and lineup, but yes the drug penalties are much tighter. There's always cops at all the massives, that not only supervise, search every bag, and pat every person down... but often have sniffer dogs and make multiple arrests for amounts as small as half a pill. Melbourne is quite different to Sydney however, much more politically restrained and controlled.I've noticed our parties seem to attract a younger crowd than the US though, few very older people (say... 20) wear any sort of Candy at all, and we have a signifigantly HUGE lad and lass population. There are some other small differences, but all in all Sydney goes pretty hard in spite of the law. |
