I'm relatively new to the scene, well kina. Anyways I found the type of music "Gabber" and "Hardcore/Hardstyle" to be VERY exhillerating and I kinda dance like it except with other styles jumbled in like a melting pot but it's predominantly hardcore. Are hardcore kids/ravers notorious for anything, like bashing or being assholes or anything, bc they ARE Hardcore. Just asking bc I don't wanna assosiate with anyone with a bad name, or maybe I will and just prove that not all hardcores are assholes [i]if[i] that is even a stereotype/known attribute .

-I myself and definately not MEAN or HARDCORE myself at all, at least in my personality. I'm like a happy hardcore/kandi type personality smiling, friendly, loving (or isolative and to myself! )fyi for whatever it's worth -

If anything, we're notorious for being very into the genre, which can make some of us come off as elitist. As a general rule, though, I think we're very high energy, excitable people that want to dance around and have a good time!

That's a pic of me and a bunch of other people at a hardcore party. We're notorious for being annoyingly upbeat and enthusiastic at worst

Well I was just reading a post and someone said something about they wouldn't be suprised to see hardcores hating or bashing on others on RL, forgot where but I got a little concerned.

- an' DANG haha if they are notorious for being energetic and really into the genre then that's me XD. I was probably the most active-moving last-last weekend, I definately have energy and devotion big time x3.

-But the question still kind of remains, but modified. Are Hardcores/Gabbers notorious for anything more than the usual raver? now i'm just plain curious as I don't care anymore I say i'm hardcore idc if i'm a n00b i'm hardcore >=D.

Although I may be in a little bit of trouble, Hardcore AND straightedge(whutever you call it) ? (not to boast/seem elitist) heh, i'm not elite I swear >.<

It may be different where you live, but here, nobody judges people on what they listen to and what they prefer to dance to. There's a loose group of gabber lovers in my city and we can be seen to be running round with a slightly maniacal look in our eyes screaming "WHERE'S THE GABBAAA!?"
We're perhaps not as serene as the psychill-loving hippies, maybe a bit more high-impact, high-energy and excitable but this doesn't mean we bash people up or negatively influence the collective PLUR in any way. :]

Hehe idk really i'm new to the whole rave thing in general and I only know of Fresno and it's Scene. Fresno seems like the kind of place where'd there would be stuck up bashing peeps, or at least at my school. idt anyone is into gabber/hard stuff at my school like me, but if there were they'd probably be all bashy and elitist, they are all pretty prideful at my school.

cool I feel a WHOLE lot better about associating myself with hardcore kids, seems that, in general, they are really hyper kids that love realllllly hard and fast kicks in their music like me. Thanks you two or three who responded ^^

dude, what school do you go to? I dunno, in some of your posts you make Fresno seem like this anit-wonderland. (There's HELLA hard core kid in fresno. You just gotta go to more events.)

It's not that bad. You're scaring folks away. :P

Unfortunately if you are listening to techno and going to raves then you are already hanging with people with a bad name but as far as I have heard its not so much hardcore ravers that are arseholes I think its more like the gangs that are hanging at the raves that are arseholes you needed to be around 12+ years ago it was just like you want to be now it was truly a ravers heaven

im sooo sorry lol i've always hated Fresno, or at least I have since I developed my sense of independant thoughts lol I think it's the summer heat every year. I went to Hoover High, never liked that school either ever since I was pulled out of University High School. The people over there are generally more focused on having fun and partying and being "in" and all that than anything else. If you're not one of them they kinda just snub you, and i'm anti-crowd, so you can imagine how that goes. Actually people like me just makes things akward. But i've noticed that if you're not "In" they are kinda brutal and if there were a group of hardcore kids it'd be a tight exclusive circle of people away from everyone else, is what I meant.

But anyways i'm so sorry I forgot other people read my words lol. I should be careful. Ok FRESNO IS NOT THAT BAD AS I MAKE IT IT'S JUST AN OPINION COME BACK! lol

Really? Oh ya I met/remet a chick last time who said she loved hardcore stuff! Ya and I never said that there were none in Fresno ever, just I've never met any and don't think I will Fresno is not very Ravey as i've observed growing up.

and then you realize you are still stuck in fresno

if you happen to fit into that category, die, everyone else's cool.

welcome to highschool. This cliche goes beyond Fresno.

You've been missing out too. Fresno had a HUGE rave scene prior to 03. I'm sure most jaded ravers in nor cal can tell you about cyber frest. Which was pretty much a nor cal EDC, and it was held in FRESNO of all places. (this was all until the rave act was passed in 03: look up the law here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] )

so this whole fresno sucks, fresno doesn't have a scene, fresno boohoo blah blah talk really really seriously pisses me off.

we're trying our best to bring it back but the "fresno sucks" mentality really make folks LESS likely to attend Fresno/central valley (modesto/merced has had a few raves recently) raves.

I'm always having people tell me that "gee, I wish Fresno had more raves" and then it's those SAME people who DON'T attend the raves they're hoping for cuz "Fresno sucks".

you can't make a claim like that until you've experienced it first.

sorry, this rant isn't genrally entirely directed towards you, i'm just being general.

Things will get better for you when you leave HighSchool. Trust me, when I was in highschool, I was an oddball out (I was a graver [goth raver]). Of course when I went to college, all of this changed.

I never blamed fresno for it either.

and i've been a raver for 9 years now.

well thank you all for those encouraging words. At least now I know things aren't so BS and Highschooly since i've completed my 4th year @ HS WOOT!!! Look'n forward to City Next year =^_^=. Ya well i'm sorry if I fit into any of those categories of bitching about fresno and all that, sincerly. I think it's just the bad weather here I really hate bad weather X.X especially the summer heat Z noz. Like honestly it really messes with my opinions on things, has made me hate Fresno. As far as the people, i've been to other cities and almost all of them have more opener and I guess you could say PLURRY peeps (just to use a raver word to compare non raver things/people). But I don't know what it is but peeps over here aren't very plurry, I don't see alot of smiles and trust, I mean they're AWESOME people underneath but It's like you have to work harder to gain their trust and respect otherwise everyone is just kind of afraid of eachother, which to me is really wierd haha. all these are just observations though, and actually alot of people i've met have grown to love Fresno, like alot of people come here and they just have a certain pride of living here, it's all over the place. Guess it's just me and the young'ns (alot of young peeps don' like Fresno I observed). Maybe I shouldn't say anything though since i'm still a noob at life and even more of a noob in the scene hehe.

I don't know. But to those reading, don't be discouraged to come to Fresno, it's actually a pretty cool place, alot more things to do than other local areas and it's awesomely diverse, like seriously there's all kindsa peeps here and interesting characters (and i'm not talking about creepy guys, I mean genuine interesting people), there's something here for everybody (even ravers o.o) and it's not that expensive here for ... well .. anything for that matter (and that doesn't mean we're not quality, Fresno has quality ) ^^.
