What do you say to a closed minded homophobe when they are gay bashing?

I go to a very conservitive school, and there is this one kid who always bashes gays, I've tried asking him to leave the subject alone, because I dont want to dislike him, or cause friction, I'm trying to be peaceful, but he seems to just love hating.

this kinda casts some shadow on my day, any suggestions?
