Here's what I would do. Go and browse the store. Farmiliarize yourself with the merchandise and see what kind of customers shop there. Especially look at how the people behind the register are dressed and dress maybe a step up. I'd go business casual, nothing formal. Don't look like you're trying to impress somebody, or like you're on a first date. What I have found is that if you at least dress similar to what they wear every day, but maybe a step up, unless that's like putting on a suit, then don't sweat it. When the interviewer asks if you have any questions, ask about things such as dress code, unless that's covered already, and ask the interviewer if you were hired today, when the earliest point you could start would be (sometimes they'll say tomorrow, and others, next week, makes you look ambitious, and enthuiastic to get going). Always good to do a mock interview with a friend. Key points are: Why do you want this job? Why should I hire you? If they do not ask these questions, it's good to point out those reasons to the interviewer (tho a good interviewer always should ask those questions). Also, do not forget to write those "thank you" letters to the interviewers. Keep it short and simple. I got a job just because I wrote a thank you letter. They didn't use me in the department I was applying for, but they hired me in another. So they might not use you in one store, but hire you in another, or maybe another position. These are the tricks I've learned and I do a very good interview. I was almost hired at Washington Mutual as a phone banker till my background check came up bad. The interviewer said I was the best interview he's had in a while and was a bit sadneded to see the background come up bad. Oh wells. I'm making more money tho now than I would've been, plus I got a company truck, and truck insurance paid for.
