ROCK OUT! mosh with your glowstiks...
raving isnt about the drugs, well, not for me. i do it for the music, and to just see all the familiar faces coming bak to dance all nite. plus, i think your life should be balanced with more than just raving. a good surf session is as good as a sick rave |

there is something special about having a 'scene' or 'being part of a scene' or part of anything.
i think thats one thing about raving or surfing or skating or going to graduate school (well maybe not grad school) but it is cool to have familiar faces especially in So-Cal or No-Cal or Las Vegas were the vast majority are transplants or are even just here for a short time and move on somewhere else. |

it is good to be part of a scene, and part of a group and see people you know. it's good to dance, and good to be ther efor the music and good to occasionally roll.
it's just a good thing to be involved in. especially here in texas. the itty bitty scene we've got here is kinda tight knit from what i've seen. people know everyone else. it's good. |

I dunno, I think most ppl keep doing it in some way whether they decide to go into the promotion/business end of things, or just go to weekly EDM nights or clubs because they need their electronic music fix but don't feel like they fit in around a bunch of young kids anymore. Some don't even stop at all. I've seen my share of 40+ year old ravers before...and I'm talking the works: phat pants, candy, etc.. But I've also seen plenty of people in the scene who totally move on and it was just a phase for them. Guess it depends. Me personally, I went from a pilled up highschooler wearing phat pants and floppy hats, going to raves every other weekend, jungle mixes on my big ass headphones 24/7 to a well dressed adult who gives back to the scene by DJing, promoting, designing, and producing at all sorts of events from bars, clubs, and the occasional dirty warehouse shindig. The biggest difference is that I have more shit that I have to be on top of in my life so I can't get crazy on the drugs anymore. I've grown out of many aspects of the scene as I get older, but only to find myself involved in a completely new and refreshing way.

6 years ago you would've seen me running pills for records...now I'm the guy behind the decks but more importantly I'm a part of something greater than "me"...the few who continue to promote and accept younger generations into the EDM culture. When I'm grey and weathered I'll be proud to look back at my days and nights spent in the San Diego underground... man I don't want to get "old" ![]() |

I've never gotten out of the rave scene. Most people get just like you said, 1 of 3 things
1 Burned out 2 stay raving 3 are in the back somewhere Concerts and rave culture are something that never go away and never leave the soul. I was with a friend at a Phil Lesh consert last year. There were old heads with walkers droppin acid and rocking out to old dead tunes***and little kids====teenagers and me. |

after raving, i am normally drained and out of energy. i dont feel like doing anything, no talking, no going on the computers, no watching tv. NOTHING except just sit on my computer chair and just listen to some chill trance on low volume

ive noticed once people seem to leave high school the number of them who raves drops in half then when people graduate college the numbers of ravers drops again by half.

well.... if they were raving for the right reasons and kept care of themselves, they wouldn't be burned out from drugs!
