HEy I got arrested for 2 tabs of Ecstasy

I got arrested Thursday night for felony possession of 2 ecstasy pills. THe judge let me out of county jail on my own recognizance, but I have to be at court on Friday. I'm probably going to get a public defender. I have no prior convictions, drug convictions, no warrants, or probation. I'm totally clean, except for this. Do you guys think I will see jail time or will I just get probation and sent to drug rehab like Prop 36? Anyone have experience here? Thanks.

yea dont go public defender. they dont really care whether you go to jail or not, so they dont try hardly at all. and PLEASE dont also try to do this with a lawyer. you need a well experienced criminal defense attorney for this.

when i went to court(for something very stupid) there was a guy who was facing the same charges as you would prolly do.he was put on probation for ...shit i think it was over a year but don't remember,but also he had to pay certain amount of money and that was it( he had no lawyer though). of course i would recommend to have one if you can. I don't think is gonna be too bad, my ex was found with meth, so he went to jail i think for a week and he has 4 more years of probation to go. good luck

A good start is to get a 3x5 card and write it out like this:



Date--------------------Meeting Name------------Meeting Time-------- Secretary Signature


and go to Narcotics Anonymous meetings. This way you can tell the judge you know you have a problem and have been attending meetings. This way hopefully all he'll do is fine you and send you to meetings and have you come back with a filled card. Prop 36 shit. You don't have to listen. You can bring a video game (but turn the sound off).

Dude...it depends on the judge. I don't do any drugs, but I nkow a thing or two about finding loopholes. Basically, there are ways around this...you just gotta do some homework. Or bargain...tell them who you got it from. But...do you really wanna fuck your buddy over?

Dude, they are right. Public defenders are good for, say tagging a brick wall. This could get serious. Plea guilty and ask for rehab and community service. Depending on where you live I can get a list of good defense lawyers.

Razgriz is right, it does largley(sp) depend on the judge, if you get one who is strongly opposed to drug use, not as a judge but as a person he WILL be biased. They are not supposed to be but whos stoppin' em? Not you.
