Hi pepps, Im an australian raver from Melbourne. Stumbled across this site while lookin up old flyers so i thought id drop a line. Im 29 now and have 2 kids, i started when i was a youngen back in the early 90's here in perth. Needless to say i havnt been out for about 5 years now but for the life of me i cant get rid of the urge to dance to good tunes, specialy if i come across a tune that i tweaked out hard to in my day. seems to bring all those warm fuzzy feelings out of now where, yeah u know what i mean. So heres my predicement. The scene has changed so much since raves where Eligal, is it possible for me to go out on a friday and saterday and dance out my weekly frustrations or do u guys think the force is to strong and ill get pulled back in? I fear the latter. I dance in my room on my own when i get the chance and it feels GOOD. what r your thoughts?

hey man...i totally feel ya...our lil ball of light just turned 16 months and we're still goin' "strong"...just alot more selective of the parties we hit up...i've been raving for awhile and so has my partner (actually met her at an underground out on the dancefloor)...and we're starting to notice more and more "parents" out there throwin' down along side of us...yeah, the force is indeed strong to get pulled back in...but it all depends on what you're gettin' pulled into...when i First Started-Started (back in '86 with playskool), the way i was brought in was all about the music and dancing...and using subs to "enhance" or "trip" out the experience...then when i came back in '95, for me, it was still all about it...and like we use to say back in the day, Can't Stop Raving!!!...just remember, Raver is NOT a Four Letter Word...

Playskool in '86 yup I was there. Groovin to Kraftwerk's man machine (on my dads "lost" [at least he thought it was] original "walkman") in '76.
This phenomenon is now 30 years old! John. |
