I have never been caught running a red light, and it's tougher in NY than in Cali. To my knowledge they don't have cameras in my area... and that is a great thing

I have gotten one of those camera tickets also and won the case. Once they send you the ticket and pictures look @ the picture closely. If you remotely pass that line right when they took the shot u have a 75% of a win case bcz once you pass that line from your front tires its legal. It all depends on the judge in the long run but u can argue it from there.

Since I have a relative in the police department, here are a few pointers to avoid it:
If the picture of the individual driving is not clear, they will not send the ticket. To do this, keep your sunvisor down. Some lights only take a picture of the front of the car, in these cases, if you tailgate the car in front of you, your license plate will not be visible. Be careful though, a lot of the newer cameras take a picture of the back of your car as well. |

heres a few hints also.
I also keep my sunvisor down, as long as they don't capture the face they wont send u a ticket. Now if they did capture your face make sure you look closely and see if your front tire pass the 1st line. Get one of those invisible spray where you can spray your id plate turn blurry when they take the shot. |

That's nuts... they actually care about ticketing people that much out there. Traffic laws are getting crazy around our country.

That spray is all the rage in the UK. It makes your tag high-gloss, so when the flash goes off, it only gets the glare off your tag, amking it unreadable. Cool stuff. They don't have anything like the cameras in this part of FL, but the cops do stand in the tops of electrician trucks, acting like they are working on the phone lines, but really have a radar gun, and a walkie talkie to tell the cops a few blocks down to pull your car over. That's too far!

didn't i send you that link about the high gloss tags??
there's even tag covers, they appear to be clear covers, yet aid in reflecting laser detectors (supposively the cops shot at your tag since they can get the best reading)... well I didn't shell out the big bucks for one of these, but got pulled over.. the cop gave me a shopping list of problems, actually i was pulling into a comic book store, he told me to go ahead and get my shopping done and he'll wait, giving him plenty of time to tally up the list... well my Clear license plate cover was on the list.. i just had it to protect my "sticker" from being pulled off.... its bad out here.... but he made me remove it. @$$es. Yeah we dont have the camera deals, but when Squish and I were in Cali, we were able to see them work several times... it's cool as long as it aint you.... there was a comedian that said he got mail with a ticket and picture of him, and demanded a $300 fine... so he took a picture of the money and sent it back. |
