Why aren't there any all ages raves in San Diego? Legal raves perhaps?
Maybe an "Electronic Music Festival" or "Dance Festival"? San Diego needs more all ages raves. The younger folk want to rave too. Any thoughts or comments? ![]() |

Being an under 18 in San Diego, I think that the reason for so few public all-ages shows (I don't know much about the "underground" around here if theres even one?) is that kids are immature about raves, and are likely to just get sucked into drugs or whatever, and venues just don't want to deal with idiots. It screws those of us who happen to be mature, and are on the cusp of turning 18, but hey, I'll thank them when I'm past the age threshold. Kids pull stupid shit and do stupid things. Simple as that.

This just totally answered the first person's question. I'm glad you realize that. On a lighter note, the day party next Saturday is all ages. Not to push it too much or anything, I just found the first day party I ever went to to be a pleasant surprise and have loved going to them ever since.

depending on how you look as long as you come in with someone who is 18+ youll be able to get into 18+ venues.
but the reason most places (including) SD don't have all ages venues anymore is that its now just about impossible to have such a venue because of the laws. around the late 90's most cities passed laws that have fundamentally banned minors to congregate....these laws are obviously not-constitutional but they are not challenged so they stick. also even if you want to say rent out a restaurant for the night and have a rave/party and have it all ages...good luck getting a security company that is willing to be hired....they are just not insured for such events. basically plan the voters who vote for politicians who just keep making stupid laws. for some reason everyone says they want less government but those same jerks vote in politicians who make more government |

The only way promoters/etc. make money in San Diego is off of ridiculously overpriced alcohol.
Because minors cannot buy alcohol, there is no incentive to allow them entrance. God I cant wait to be 21. 5 more months.... |

Its for many reasons.
1. Liability issues. with minors involved its always harsher. 2. Younger people do stupid shit and have this thing where they feel they can do anything they want and its not their fault.(learn to be held accountable) 3. In SD they have strict curfew laws that won't allow those who apply for permits to allow minors in their parties. And they dont want people under 18 to be out past a certain time. In LA and Riverside they have different concerns so its easier to get all ages permits there. 4.Authorities in SD want to kill many cultures. Us being one of them. They purposely drove out all the artist out of DownTown SD, if not out of SD all together.... |
