Well it was a good event but by no means a 'two thumbs up'. Ill give it a 6.5 on a scale of 10.
They charged $45 for no name dj's that I am assuming they paid a commission on how many people they could bring in.
Also if you should up on Satuday night they stilll charged $45. Total ripoff.
$45 for 2.5 days is a good deal but no water no snacks etc.
Also they closed down the "3rd Main Stage" around 11:30 on saturday night--Very weak of them. That was a bad sign.
Also the constant 'downtalking' by the owner (or who ever it was) about no camp fires (even though he told us it was ok to have them a few hours earlier).
Also not very many people.
It was good but just nothing special and just not worth the drive and the $45.

I guess looking at it from a dj's perspective it would be a liitle bit different, lol.

First of all it was a three day desert party. Your supposed to bring ALL your own water and food (not to mention not littering and taking your trash home with you, don't go to outdoor parties if you can't respect the place in which you party.) It's a festival with three stages over 50 djs A lot very well known in San Diego, LA and San Francico. Whos never heard of DRC?????? Daniel Moontribe??? Hipp-e? And if people handn't left thier camps with the fires still burning everone would have been able to keep having them...Who walks away from a fire at their camp with dry srush and dead leaves all over?????

Even if they were "no name" djs it's all about the music, right? And there was great music all week long at the Oasis stage as well as the BIG NAME HEADLINER stage.

shit was a dope ass party, one of the best all year.....Mad props to john of gen events.....

all I know is on firday night the whole place was on a sick one.....

it went all weekend, the cops and fire department came and try to ended....but john said no way please leave and they did.....

and to complain about paying 45 is just crazy you guys pay that in LA all the time for a party that gets busted

the spot was chill, I had fun. heard some good music on the two stages near where most the tents and camping was going on. the venue definitely was cool. the hanging kermit the frog was killer. I wasn't paying too good of attention on my way out when i left and ended up taking the super scenic round-about way out, and went on a lil excursion, which was entertaining. I was sad to see some were not properly disposing of their waste or otherwise acting stupid (leaving fires unattended etc) but hopefully everyone will learn to respect the land one day. peace.

I'm not sure exactly what I thought of moondrop. I came with a group of 15 the first night and more showed up and we had about 20 people with us. It was fun because of how many people were with are group but there were alot of creepers walking around. We came with pretty good looking girls (which is always a plus) and overall I had a good time. If my group was smaller, I would have had not had as good a time as I did. It was more about spending time with the people that you were with than the music to me...

I wanted to see if anyone remembered anyone from my group here on RL. My name is Cobalt, and Neon, Candy, and Liberty were with me. We were the group that drum and bass called the "Glowstick Crew". I was way into the lightshows all night long so anyone who gave out sick light shows, hit me up.

Also, I'm trying to add more people to our crew. Bunch of us are moving away as they have graduated already and are moving all over. We're planning a trip to Ibiza, Spain next year to watch a sick dj (maybe tiesto or paul van dyk). I like the underground stuff every once in a while, but the girls that I went with are more into traditional raves and getting all dressed up and not all nasty dirty like we did at moondrop.

anyone in college that wants to meet up and chill every once in a while, contact me. You can either 1) email me: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]; 2) facebook me through my email [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]; 3) myspace me: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

nothing against younger ragers, it's just that it's hard to hang out when you still live at your parents houses or can't hit up a local bar. I actually live in Pacific Beach (not your typical raver).

Cheers!

Obviously MoonDrop had its plus'z and minus'z.

Overall it was an event worth going to.

But to say the music was amazing i think is a stretch.
And YES the DJs were no name DJs.
Just because they have played in public once or twice does not make them household name djs.

And it was not a 3 day event it was more like a 36 hour event.

Overall worth going to but still a ripoff for $45.
They didnt invest very much at all for the event.

The stages were very cheaply put together and the DJs i am assuming worked on commission or for free.

And YES i do expect to have toilet paper provided and maybe at least a bottle of water just in case people run out for the way high price of $45. It only cost $0.15 from Costco. How F'ng cheap can that crew be.
Remember we are in the desert and if people get heat stroke the entire crew is responsible!

I don't know if you remember signing a waver or not but, No it's not the crews fault if you didn't bring water to a outdoor event. And again, there were tons and tons of big name djs there. I don't know how new to the scene you are but...yeah...tons of underground and mainstream talent was there playing great music. There were also tons of way underground djs there playing even better music. It was probably just hard for anyone to see them play because of the heat and the fact that nobody knew were anyone was playing.
And to quote Josh, yeah you guys pay 20+ bux to rave for like 4 hours, sometimes 7 or 8 if the rave doesn't get busted.
