It's cool that Dano brings some LA talent down, but there are other crews in SD bringing way bigger talent in, sometimes even from overseas. I don't have a problem with the bar scene (and I am 21+ ), but it's simply a totally different vibe than a true "rave". At bars I get weird looks when I dance, I pay way exorbitant prices for drinks, I'm hassled by security, and I feel like I have to behave in a "proper" way. And plus, if I'm gonna pay to go to a bar, I'll go to Belo, On Broadway, or Giant and see world class headliners for $10. There is a place for the bar/club scene, and there's a place for the rave scene. Crews can continue to throw events at clubs/bars, but if you really care about the underground like me, you'll support the crews keeping the underground alive. |

Dano has been my homie for years and YEARS, but there's no way I'd drive from L.A to S.D. to hang out in a bar on Euclid street
(i live right next to it. You might see me there) |

uuummmm....who the heck are you? obviously you haven't been to our venue, and no, it's not downtown San Diego, and we don't get overseas DJs, but do you have to have that to have a good time, or keep it "underground". our venue might be the most relaxed venue, as far as vibe & dress code besides montage. no dress code, drinks aren't that bad, and security is the friendliest i've ever seen at a venue. and it's not like we started charging at the door. as a matter of fact, the only times we do charge is when we have special events, or if other crews want to throw events there, they can charge whatever. and besides.....the Terry Mullan show next week is only $5. he played at COACHELLA last year.....hello? how much BIGGER can you get on the West Coast? It will be interesting to see how this will play out. However I will not be attending as my weekend is already really busy. Glaude, Nicholas Bennison, Dyloot, Peter DiStefano (Hybrids Guitarist) who by the way plays Lollapalooza and Warp Tour every year, and has played Choachella, Ultra and Glastonbury in the past. These are a couple of examples. Don't get me wrong I love Terry and think he is a cool guy and a very talented producer and amazing dj, I am just real about things and you know that. I'll be there. Terry Mullen and really cheap alcohol FTW!! A lot of times, the bartenders at Round Table just make up drinks and give them out for free.
