YESSS! I was here! Frickin sand storm, I had sand Dunes in ears and nostrils by the time the party wa over! The crazy inflatable alien was cool. Most memorable moment was when scott(or was it Robbie ) Hardkiss held up a roll of toilet paper into the wind during his mornng set and threw it into the crowd making everyone cheer. That was funny 'cause everyone knew there wasn't enough of THAT going around all night! Man, that was my first desert party. Good times! Thanks for posting!

I remember that night. I was the opening DJ...so windy....it was hard to spin...or dance for that matter...we had our tent pitched near the DJ booth but we got so tired of the wind that we went back to our hotel room in Palm Springs....Dune 95 was probably even more amazing...I will get some pics of that show.

that rave looks soooo fun! i wish the last desert rave i went to would be like that! i went to operation desert sound and it was like really really small, and the drive was like 2 hours or 3, that was like back in july......

the last desert one i went to was over a year ago, it was pretty small, by daybreak there weren't many people left at all:

I have just a little bit of video of Dune 98'. It's the worst video ever of mine but people have been asking for it so I'll post it anyway, its not much but I have reasons why it sucked ass.

WOW the memories. Frickin' TONKA Sound in the desert!!!! That wind was indeed pretty crazy. But it didn't stop us from dancing. The Dune parties hold my fondest rave memories.

Ah, memories. I ended up staying in my hoodie, sunglasses, and dust mask all night on one of the lower hill tops in the back of those pictures. I remember seeing glowsticks climing up the top of the backdrop during the night, and people would throw their sticks out or drop them and I'd be thinking at first, holy shit someone jumped! Then towards the end, instead of the glowsticks dancing around in the darkness, you'd just see them scattered and at rest as people just chilled.

One of the best parties I've been to eventhough I lost my friends and spent the majority of the night by myself on the hill while they were by the speakers and in their tent. Also ended up having some knucklehead "bro" sit next to me and ask me "why the fuck we were here in the desert sitting on the hill in the cold wind". Also kept asking me if I was some guy he evidently knew. Kept trying to keep him "grounded' eventhough I wasn't grounded myself. And this whole time he's wondering where his friend is (which I think was the aforementioned guy he assumed I was) and low and behold I finally turn around and he's sitting right behind us chillin. Haha, good times.

Though this was also the first party I went to where someone died. And I realized the realities of these partiez. Heard about it on the news later that Sunday or weekend. Some kid ran off in to the desert, tripped and broke his neck or some such shit.
