Lets take this town back from the House scene, and hip hop. Lets recover our old spots, our old venues..defy Pam Iorio..someone throw some fucking raves in this town already. Seriously..maybe I'm looking in the wrong spot, maybe being far removed from HS, has put me so far out of the scene , that I don't know where it's hiding..I know it's not in Ybor city, too mainstream, and too much police presence to risk it...I don't think it's happening in Channelside..where is everyone? I know everyone that loved EDM, and raves didn't just vanish. They didn't all move..where is everyone? When I go on MySpace or facebook, and search for Ravers in Tampa, I find them, young, old..but never a whisper about raves from anyone, anywhere.. I could make a road trip to Miami, or travel north, or all the way to California..they have banging scenes,,but not Tampa..what is the malfunction?..I'm not about driving, hundreds of miles, hungover the next day, so I'd prefer to stick around central Florida..
Everyones too scared of police to say anything to anyone. Raves themselves aren't illegal..the drugs people do, when there are...But a fucked up law in Florida, allows for law enforcement, to charge the club owners for running a "crack house", regardless if they had any knowledge or anything to do with the drug use in question, and it's got all the club owner too scared to host anything associated as a rave.. Tampa desperately needs some, there is alot of pent up negative energy around here, and we could use a release. Besides, I have a whole crew, that I've been introducing to the scene, but for the time being, I only have stories to tell because there is no scene actually here to show them. Please tell me I'm wrong..someone...anyone ![]() there has to be some event, I've never heard of, in some abandoned warehouse, in someones vacation house,..please people, I am about to go out of my Plurrfficating mind here...Nightmoves is reopened, and that used to be a mad rave spot..is it back to what it was?, or is this another situation where the new owners are trying to play off the old owners club name? I keep seeing ads for Level III in Ybor city, but I doubt that can be called a "rave" because I haven't heard of clubs in Ybor being glowstick friendly in years..and on Friday nights the club is A. dead and B. plays almost exclusively house and hip hop. But Saturdays are supposed to be when they go EDM..I just doubt the "scene" follows. Anyone with insight, hit me up let me know.. I'm no cop, I'll jump through whatever hoops you want to prove it.but If I don't find the scene soon, I'm going to melt down..literally. help.. ![]() |

Hopefully someone will reply to this thread with some useful information…. I’m a huge fan of EDM and the “rave culture”, but never have I seen a “true” rave being promoted… It’s a real letdown… I agree that something needs to be done to bring back/preserve our music. It would be nice to actually find some sort of a rave venue to party at soon since my 21st is coming up, but I find that unlikely… wish I could have grown up in the 90s…
