In Rome for Amore

Amore celebrates its 4th edition this year, and, after the enormous success of the first two editions, the event has become a real and authentic New Year’s festival enjoying institutional support from Rome’s City Hall.
The complexity and variety of the festival’s artistic offerings, in 4 different theatre halls throughout the city, has convinced thousands of people from all over Europe to come and celebrate their New Year’s Eve in the Italian capital.
Over the last 5 years the city of Rome has become one of the fulcrums of European electronic music, thanks to the tireless efforts and tenacity of clubs, promoters and artists themselves who have found collaborators in the city and who have created a receptive cultural movement amongst youth that is, in a word, dynamic.
Today the results are clear; an increasing number of people are showing an interest in electronic music and digital art forms, a phenomenon with a popularity which almost rivals that of contemporary music.
Amore 08 will be yet another step forward for the entertainment culture, a mature event offering an artistic cast even more surprising than that of the preceding years, replete with excellent services and a five star welcome for its public.

I was there:

Pros:
Music was excellent
Girls are beautiful

Cons:
Everyone was dressed in black and dark colors...?????
(On new years eve???? WEIRDOS!)
The majority played the tough guy all night instead of being happy and friendly...
(I mean whats the point making a New Years Eve Party if its not about fun and merry making? These Italians are the most pretentious, mass-style imitator monkeys I have ever seen.... Somebody decided electro music should be enjoyed as an alternative/dark style so they all decided then it should be only about being alternative dark thing and they all felt obligated to do the exact same, like good monkeys. For me they are just weirdos, why cant you dress in fancy dress or why cant you be just happy and nice to each other on New Years Eve? I mean you can take drugs, vomit publicly, be rude and macho, but you cant celebrate New Years Eve as everywhere else????)

Weird Italians, just plain weird! And rude.

Also If you ever go to Italy for 31/dec party dont even think about going out on the 30th because as proper cheap circus/theatre show monkeys they have the false impression if they close everything a night before this indicates that so big party night is the next night, you even have to close everything the night before... such a cheap freaks.
In my opinion on the 30ieth there should be a twice as normal size preparation party and on the 31st there should be a 5 times bigger as normal.

Also dont even think about going on after party. 8 o'clock in the morning the party is over and NO AFTER PARTY! I should have suspected something, when 7oclock everyone was smoking on the weed, they already started the chill out, because they knew the party was over!!! F*ck sake!
The next earliest party I was able to find started at 2pm the afternoon, I just rather gone home.

That was the most disappointing party Ive ever been.

Rome is awesome cant wait to go again. Found a great article on things to see when I get there, should of had this last time.

Hiya.....now then I am lookin to go somewhere wiv decent fookin tech house/funky house/dirty house sets NYE! I av been into house music since I was 17 n fookin luv it! But kinda put it all on hold 4awhile...until this yr when I went Ibiza...Space rocked ma world!!!!! So then... is it worth goin to this Rome Event thingy????? xx
