Party Is Over For Ravers , Town Says Michael George BELGIUM - The town of Belgium is trying to put a stop to huge raves by filing a lawsuit against organizers. Neighbors say they can't even sleep at night because of the noise. Video on the YouTube Web site shows the last party held in Belgium. It's an all-weekend rave called "Camped Out '07," held on a dairy farm in rural Belgium. Hundreds show up for the DJs, musical acts, and the loud, electronic music. Neighbors have been complaining about the noise for five years. "Neighbors complained about a deep, bass vibration. That noise went on all day and all night," said Deb Hoffman, lawyer for the town. Now, the town says the party is over. Ozaukee County Sheriff's deputies arrested the 47-year-old farm owner and an event promoter for disorderly conduct during the Labor Day weekend rave. They also shut down the third day of the party. Organizers are being threatened with a $10,000 fine if they hold another rave. "The parties are already illegal, so, no, I don't think legally they'll be able to have more parties," Hoffman said. Neighbors declined to speak on camera, but several told TODAY'S TMJ4 reporter Michael George the music is so loud it makes their windows vibrate 24 hours a day. The town is suing to shut the parties down for good. They claim the raves could even be dangerous. Hoffman says the organizers don't have proper security or nurses for an event of that size. The farm's owner did not return calls for comment. Two neighbors told TODAY'S TMJ4's Michael George the party doesn't bother them. They say it is well organized and there haven't been any problems. |

That sucks. But the promoter wasn't really wise to do a rave with neighbors nearby, without any security or red cross representatives or anything. A must not to have trouble is to make things safe. Too bad they decided to shut down all the parties because of one irresponsable promoter.
